I got suspended in my freshman year for calling someone “gay.” You know how in middle school it mean “dumb” or “stupid” and had nothing to do with sexual orientation, but suddenly in high school it was considered sexual harassment. Will the suspension come back to haunt me? I haven’t done anything since and i’ve gotten a 4.2 uc gpa and 2330 sat. Will this and the fact i was a freshmen back then make them more lenient or should i just get ready to go to a csu or community college?

I don’t think you’re screwed at all. Hell, you can even write about how you have changed from it, or not write about it at all.

I read recently about such problems into one of those how to get into the ivy leagues books, and they said as long as its minor, as it is in your case, DO NOT TRY TO HIDE IT! you don’t have to bring up the subject, answer truthfully if they ask you though, like you regret it, but you thought the punishment was too harsh, and that everyone meant it as a joke, like you did…
