This thread is hilarious.

^ haha yeah

^^ Im glad this thread amuses you! -__-

But anyways… Many people question about my score. They couldn’t believe that I scored 398. Many say I had a “bad day” or “blew” it off cause it was an easy test. & I’m taking math anaylsis… Ive gotten a 100%on many tests in that class. So getting a perfect score on something like “x^2 = 16” shouldnt be hard…

Depression mode…

There’s just so much you can do instead of asking if you’re stupid on the internet… -____-

maybe you bubbled in everything incorrectly? like, you put the answer for 2 under 3 and then it all go shifted. maybe you didn’t do that start to finish but somewhere in the middle. i’ve caught myself doing that before. i’ve also caught myself bubbling in sections 3 and 4 on one page of the SAT when i was on sections 1 and 2. i spent the whole break erasing frantically. lol

^ That actually did happen during the test & I caught myself, luckily. But still it shouldnt be that big of a difference… 398 & 450 it’s probably like a twenty question difference
I MISSED 20 QUESTIONS ON A DUMB TEST! AHHHH

Or maaaaybe since the CAHSEE consists of many reading articles & such & I skimmed a lot so maybe that’s the reason why? But I mean I skim everything? & it’s working fine?

When a test is that easy, you fall into a trap of not giving it your best effort, which seems like the case.

@OP
Definitely stupid. Look up the the Dunning Kruger effect. It explains how you were so confident the test was easy and yet you suck at life. Although, cognitive biases may be above your comprehension level. :D

michael2, i always suspected you of overestimating your own abilities. I think you two may be in the same boat.

The Dunning Kruger Effect doesn’t define me. At least I hope not… Cause I’d always ace tests that are 10 times harder than that. Like the AP m/c questions… etc. I mean I’ve failed some tests before BUT that’s because I know I wasn’t prepare, read the book, or didnt do the assignment (etc) & the cahsee isn’t a type of test that u need to “prepare” for… I mean it’s common sense.

What were your guys’ CAHSEE score? Will you guys tell me? Hah I’d like to know…thank youuuu

I’ve never taken it. But in all honesty, if you really want to get a better score, STUDY and PREPARE. Do not go into any test overconfident. Pay attention to answer gridding as well.

Standardized tests are meaningless. No employer will ever ask what your SAT or GRE scores were, much less your scores on a silly high school exam!

There, now go feel better :)

So if I get a 1500 SAT I can still get into Harvard?!?!?

BOOYAH!!! It’s happened approximately 0 times before, of course.

Oh, and Smarty… there’s really no way we could possible know what affected your score. Unless, of course, we can time-travel and body switch.

dfree: I got 800s on the SAT and GRE verbal reasoning exams. Does that mean I’m the best writer of all time?!??!?

No, it really doesn’t. It means I’m really good at fill-in-the-bubble tests of word meanings. Oddly enough, I’ve never had another fill-in-the-bubble test of word meanings anywhere else in life.

well, there’s a reason they’re required.

fine, not all standardized tests are required, but are you just going to bomb the SAT’s and expect to get into Harvard? No.
