Since we are on the topic of sheets. Does anyone know how to find fitted bottom sheets for thinner mattresses like the old days? I tend to buy cheap cotton sheets so they will fit better and shrink so they fit better still.

Based on a recommendation from a friend, we sprung for a set of sheets from the Sleep Number store. Wow - these are amazing and better than any of the mega thread count sheets we have had in the past. They have samples avail to view and to touch and they come in different depths.

I also love the cool and crisp feel that is so hard to find. And more importantly, I want sheets that can be washed without fear. Drives me crazy to see sheets that must be washed gentle and tumbled low…I usually do dry on low, but sheets are one thing that I want to be able to wash in hot and dry on hot when cold and flu season is around.

Any tips on where to find good Cal King sheets at a discount? I went to Tuesday Morning and they had really nice sheets at good prices, but no Cal King ones that I could see.

Glad to know there are other people who like crisp sheets! I’m still searching for the old-fashioned cotton percale, but pretty much everything I see is slimy sateen or Egyptian cotton with a super-high thread count, which isn’t “crunchy” enough.

We have an older, thinner mattress and its very difficult to find sheets that fit. I did buy a great set of sheets that were made for the thinner mattress from Vermont Country Store
[The Vermont Country Store | General Store | Classic & Hard to Find Products](http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/store). They are crisp and stiff. They are not listed online - maybe because they’re focusing more on flannel sheets. You might want to call and see if they have any “Clothesline Crisp” sheets.

Mass momm…look upstream in this thread. The Wamsutta sheets Justamom and I both have are that crisp type of sheet…but really better than the old percale. They are machine washable (to the other poster who asked…yes on hot with a hot dry), and come out perfect every time. They are at Bed Bath and Beyond and are NOT sold in sets…ala carte only. They are pretty expensive…but worth it. I LOVE mine…and I know Justamom loves hers as well.

Kajon, we got a store credit after a friend bought a Sleep Number bed on our recommendation. We used it for a duvet cover (we use bottom sheet and duvet in the winter, no top sheet). It feels really nice but it’s too soft and slippery to hold the comforter in place. After a night or two we have a foot of duvet cover sans comforter in the center of the bed. But they are nice sheets…
