Starting a new thread. The cast looks like the usual suspects. Leo and Jamal must have drank one too many Jolts.

There’s no one I hate yet, so that’s good.

Bummer for the docs to lose first place. Was glad the Oklahoma boys made it through at least one round. The clues were tricky the way they were written. Was surprised how many didn’t know how to row - but also those looked liked pretty hefty boats.

I have to say that after watching TAR Canada for the past couple of months, the teams on this season are pretty uninspiring so far, with a couple of exceptions.

Glad another season has started! Still my favorite show. Also glad Oklahoma boys are still there. Always rooting for the folks like them. One of my all time favorite teams was Cord and Jet. The Oklahoma boys remind me of them. Oh my gravy!

Loved Cord and Jet. :)

I will admit as they introduced the teams that there seemed to be a lot of “sports” related teams - former football players (who actually did not seem full of themselves!), baseball wives, hockey ice ladies. I do also like when they include one “celebrity” type team - not a big star but someone who is mildly famous. And then just some regular folks like me. :)

So funny, but just hearing the opening AR song gets me all excited! Just love this show.

I was discouraged that the father/daughter team was eliminated. I like it better when people around my age do well.

Well, you’re more tolerant than I am! The baseball wife whining about her fear of heights was WAY more than I could stand - she was worse than the doc’s last season who couldn’t swim. Honestly, if you’re terrified of heights or terrified of water, and still want to get your face on television, then maybe “Jeopardy" or “Wheel of Fortune” would be a better fit, don’t you think?

I do like the married doc’s and wish them well . . . but is it wrong of me to hope that I never end up in their emergency room? Sorry, but inability to read simple directions is NOT a quality I look for in an ER physician!

The blonde with the pink/red streak in her hair is MEGA annoying!!! (which probably means she will last awhile - ugh!) Loved when the guy whose shoe she was shining kept making her do more - haha.

Team Bingo - the larger guy was also really starting to annoy me and had the potential it seemed to be very rude to his partner - didn’t mind seeing them bow out. That was an awful mess at the train station with the attendant telling them the wrong time though.

Baseball wife seems very needy! Constantly needing a hug!

And BTW, are these women TOLD to pack bikinis for the water challenges or are they all just so young that they don’t think of practicality??!!! I thought they all looked ridiculous in their bikinis hauling the bags of salt - except for the one girl who at least had a boy shorts/sports bra type combination.

Also, that finish line bickering of the Afghanistan guys - the one blaming the other guys university for not teaching him right? Petty.

I was struck by the contrast between the MDs whose mistake last week cost them the express passes, potentially a critical mistake, but who put it behind them and moved on, and the Afghan guys who were sniping at each other for a mistake that only cost them a trip but had no bearing on their ability to win the game.

Baseball wives, ER docs, football players? How about they cast people without the earning capacity of pro athletes and docs? I find it hard to root for them to win (unless it’s for charity or something–or if they never made it to the big leagues)

Maybe the show prefers a few teams that are wealthy and semi-famous to offset some of the other teams and to improve ratings?

I liked the clever remark that the football player was going to bite the rock to split it open. I thought Chile was a beautiful country. Some teams spoke fluent Spanish and that had to have helped them.

Yes, really surprised at the level of Spanish of some of the teams - certainly helpful!

I really like the 2 hippie looking guys, so far. They have great chemistry and a great attitude too.

I like the football players too. For the same reason.

Thought seeing girls on the race in bikini’s was insulting actually. Come on. Stop it already.

Can’t stand the AfghanAmals.

Can’t stand the baseball wives.

Ugh.

Awww - darn it, didn’t want to see the football guys go so soon! Thought for sure it would be non-elim!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how Phil gave Pinky (pink hair streak) some grief at the pit stop - what a piece of work she is!!!

That airport scene at the beginning of the show was crazy. So much time spent at the airport though that the tasks seemed secondary. Couldn’t believe that Pinky was trying to build that tile puzzle ON the mount!!!

Also happy for the docs getting a win under their belt, though I also like the Boston team. That Magellen task was kind of cool. Good idea for teams to pair up for that.

Sorry to see the football guys go, but you can’t take a multi-stop flight and not expect delays. It seemed like everything that could go wrong for them did go wrong.

The elimination of the football guys seemed sort of unfair to me, and is really kind of a production error. There should be enough available seats from one place to another that all teams and their camera crews are able to arrive within a few hours of each other. Even worse, the football guys were at the first airport early, and the booking error by the agent (typing in the wrong dates) caused them to lose seats on the earlier fight.

Yes, true. ^^^

I wonder if non-elim legs are determined ahead of time. They sure were good natured about it. Thought it was funny the way Phil met them at the airport - in fact, he seemed sort of in a hurry the way he walked up to them - he was probably at the airport ready to catch his flight to the next destination!!

While I’m sorry to see the football guys leave the show, their real mistake was in accepting an itinerary that included 2 connections. They should have just stuck with the tickets they had when they left the travel agency. Big mistake!

The football guys let their competitive side get the better of them… the strategy at this point in the race is not to finish last. Sure winning a leg gets you a travel prize - but those prizes will come if you stick around.

If they had stuck to their original tickets, they would have been fine…
