Amazing Race 24 All Stars

That’s a good thing…I think Rachel needs to grow up a little (well, a lot) before becoming a mom. Although a “Brenchel’s Having a Baby” spin-off seems tailor-made for Bravo’s train-wreck reality lineup.

I was so disappointed we didn’t get the usual last leg challenge that requires the racers to remember elements of their journey (though I was fearful Brenchel would have taken copious notes and would ace that kind of challenge). Instead, the last leg was entirely dependent on who had the best taxi driver. Quite a letdown–the show is always at its weakest when taxis control the outcome instead a of racing skills. It seemed the producers were more concerned with having a spectacle at the end than with having a competitive leg. I hope this approach and the move to Friday night next season don’t signal a watering down of the show, though it will be nice for it to start at a predictable time from now on…

I agree, MommaJ. I was waiting for the memory challenge. They didn’t even have to drive themselves on this leg. Still not happy that they allowed the roadblock split to be 8/5 for Connor and Dave.

Friday night might be a good night for it. It’s a strong night for CBS shows, Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods.

The roadblock rules were the same for everyone this season - whatever the breakdown was, blame the show. If it was your team wouldn’t you put the strongest person for the task there if it was within the rules??? There were certain tasks - like last night- where teams were required to have the second half of the pair for the second task (so because Connor did the magic task, Dave had to skydive.

Oh, I’m absolutely blaming the show, abasket, for what seems like a conscious lack of clarity this season on the roadblocks. They made it so obvious in previous seasons and there was nary a mention of any change this time around. That said, both of the other teams in the finale were 7/6. I’m not the only one to question it, it’s been mentioned in every article I’ve read about this season today. In any case, given the three teams in the finale, I’m happy that Connor and Dave came first.

Didn’t know it was moving to Fri night. That will be better than the inconsistent starting time we get when the show follows football or golf on Sunday.

Even though the country girls were very nice girls, it would have been a sham if they had won. I believe they were saved by the non-elimination leg at LEAST twice, plus they would have been eliminated a couple of more times without others feeling sorry for them. Nothing against them as people though - nice girls, But I’m glad they didn’t win. Regarding Brenchel, I don’t know what was more annoying, Rachel in general, or Brendan over-doing it with the constant interruptions of “I’m proud of you, Babe. You’re the best, Babe.” Barf. What TAR needs to do going forward, is stop bringing the same teams back multiple times. How many times can we see the Cowboys and the deaf son with his mom? I think they were all on the show 3 times. Twice is borderline. Three is ridiculous.

One more comment from earlier in the season. That blonde guy that came back on with his adorable wife/girlfriend…the team that was eliminated despite having the express pass a couple of seasons ago. That guy was the worst racer I’ve ever seen. I mean, he’s a fit, young guy, but he somehow can’t run, can’t figure anything out, and can’t make a decision. It was comical.

Yes Kman, his now-wife was definitely the stronger one of the pair - and she was WAY patient with him and his faults!

Of the 3 teams racing in the finale, I’m “glad” (less unhappy) that Dave & Connor won, but overall I didn’t care for any of them. I also didn’t hear it’s moving to Friday nights. There were a few finale changes I was perplexed about - no test of memory - no driving yourselves - hmmmm. Oh well. NEXT!

The Brenchals seem to have their share of online fans. The combination of whining and arrogance is so off-putting to me, I just don’t see the appeal. He doesn’t seem as bad but I spend most of the time thinking, how does he put up with her, she’s awful, and isn’t particularly attractive, certainly he could do better. They seem to really love each other though, and yes, they’ve won enough money already so whatever on the baby idea. I’m happy with the Dave and Connor win. They really dominated towards the end.

I’m very happy that Dave and Connor won, especially after their mishap last time. Very nice.

The 25th season of TAR started on Saturday. The teams left from Times Square at the TKTS booth. Several NYC friends were there to watch. :)

I read about this! Apparently Times Square was the starting point of Season 1 AR also!

I also read something about a new twist - that the team who wins first leg gets immunity till leg 9 or something???

The “known” couple is some couple from Survivor - she apparently survived a shark attack???

Bethany Hamilton, yes, did survive a shark attack when she was 13 but I don’t recall her ever being on Survivor. She lost her arm in the attack.

Bethany Hamilton was not on Survivor, but Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson were on Survivor: South Pacific.
