Glad to have the race back!! I have never driven a stick, but would definitely learn before going on the race.
Lots of tension with the blind dates this week. My favorite couple so far is the Winter Olympians. They really seem to be enjoying themselves.
That’s exactly what I yelled at the TV last night. After all these years, how does someone do the race and not learn to drive a stick. They deserved to be eliminated just for that.
Well, that makes it unanimous then!
There always seems to be at least one team where one or both don’t know how to drive a manual transmission. The difference with these two is that they gave up which was stupid.
I’m enjoying Aly and Steve, and Laura and Tyler. They all seem to be enjoying themselves.
I can’t imagine being Hayley and watching this every week. She sure looks like a horrible person. Poor Blair.
I can imagine Blair just deciding that this isn’t worth it and quitting.
The team that gave up because they didn’t know how to drive a stick, deserved to lose. The cute trucker team also didn’t know how to drive a stick, but didn’t give up. I think that says a lot about their relationship. There are a few sweet couples on the show right now, but still no favorite for me. Yet.
And she also climbed to the top of the stack of beer crates - despite being afraid of heights!
To be fair, the blind date couples might not have had much time to prepare under the new format. I haven’t driven a stick in many years and would not want to relearn in a foreign city.
If Blair is Captain Obvious then Hayley must be Private Obnoxious.
You can just picture all of Hailey’s old boyfriends nodding and pointing “SEE! See what she was like!”
I find myself rooting for Hailey and Blair. Well, Blair, because he’s been such a gentleman through the worst blind date in history. She reminds me of Rachel from Brenchel. There’s someone for everyone lol.
I was so glad Kurt and Bergen were eliminated this week. It would have been very disappointing if it was a NEL. You have to learn to drive a stick, or just push it there.
And how many tasks is Blair going to have to do?! He even sang to her tonight! He’s not perfect but man, he has been patient and maintained what appears to be a decent attitude. She is a girl who gives a bad name to BOSSY!
I felt a little bad for Kurt (right? not the rich one?) though absolutely that’s a cardinal rule of AR - learn how to drive stick shift. But Bergen seemed to really not care - it surprised me a bit the bitterness at the end - I didn’t pick up on that so much throughout the episode.
The Olympians are adorable and sure work well together. I find that I just love the Southern Cal dating couple - he’s cute as can be and she seems sweet - they seem to NICELY be getting to know each other and work like a team.
And how about Vegas chick and her voice singing!? That was a surprise!!!
My 17 year old daughter learned to drive a stick because, guess what, that’s the car we have. I’ve ONLY had manual transmissions. My brother has about 9 VWs and she can drive those with no power steering, no power brakes.
I don’t understand teams who try out for the show (even the blind date people do) who don’t prepare - swimming lessons, driving trucks and manual cars, checklists for luggage and fanny packs. This was almost like it was set up for them to quit.
NO spoiler here… I am sad about the outcome of this weeks episode because i really liked this couple. This was a fun episode, although I personally had a bit of a nail biting fit watching a portion of it.
It was tough. I’m to the point of finding some enjoyment with most of these couples and not wanting to see anyone go. I think it is ok to post most recent episode spoilers once it has aired - I always figure it’s my job to stay away from this thread until I watch the most recent episode - which I did last night!
The couple that went really did nothing wrong, just ended up on the short side of the stick with time - I wonder if it was very close. She seemed genuinely sad to be eliminated - that was cute.
Funny how they had to race the entire day in their formal wear! OMG - how sweaty was the truck driver guy!!!
And shocked me to see Blair and Whiner at the finish line first! Had to laugh when they got there and my D said, “GOOD FOR BLAIR!” (but not for her!!!)
Monaco and Nice are beautiful - so excited to see this because I’ll be going there this summer!
I enjoyed the episode. The scenery was spectacular. Have fun on your trip, abasket. It truly is a beautiful part of the world. It looked like all of the teams were quite close except for the one that was eliminated. It’s so hard to tell sometimes what the timing is on TAR and they clearly very often make it seem closer than it actually is to enhance the excitement. This week’s episode is two hours.
The only way you can really tell on the timing is based on the morning departures the next day. And of course the last couple is usually no longer present.
Marmot must be a sponsor of AR. Just got this in my email - if you are in San Fran, you can try out!!!

Am I the only one who watched Friday’s 2 hour episode???
Wow, bummer on the results of that 2 hour episode!
I thought the Olympic team was one of the strongest and yes, perhaps the team to beat. Like the woman said, they sort of took themselves out of it. He was VERY tolerant of what seemed to be her the last two legs through her whining and complaining. Sorry to see them go.
That said, continue to enjoy the Blair/Partner road show!!! I love him more each episode! I would really ROTFL if they end up being the blind date couple that sticks together after the show!!!
Africa is beautiful and those tasks , wow. The helicopter drop didn’t LOOK too hard, but clearly was very strenuous. The sand skiing - I could have never made it up that hill!
At this point, I think I would be ok with any team winning except for maybe the Asian woman and her teammate - he’s fine but she just seems so TIGHT!
Also, adorable that the trucker lady has decided that her guy is worthy of meeting her son and pursuing a life together.
I saw the episode, but didn’t post so as not to spoil anything.
I probably would’ve kept looking for elephants and ignored the race. That was incredible.
I also learned that you don’t want to walk a zebra. Poor Mike.
I agree on being OK with any of the teams winning, except for Jenny and Jelani. She’s a little too intense for me.
I can’t wait to see Hayley on Survivor one of these years. The Asian woman burned their bridges with the other teams and eventually it will cost them.
The key to climbing up the side of those sand dunes on skis is to take baby side steps all the way up. It isn’t difficult unless your legs are tired, then it is hard to keep your balance. The task reminded me of running down the sand dunes on Cape Cod when I was in my 20’s.
