Amazing Race 28

It’s all editing. I don’t expect that they really acted like that the whole time. I don’t think they could and be that successful on the race.

Dana came through when the chips were down. And she knew it…that had to add even more pressure on her shoulders. I expected they would tell her that she had made a mistake or two. Youdon’tsay is right about the editing. We will never know what got thrown out or erased.

What amazes me is how the advance crew constantly finds exciting new places to visit and then invents tasks for everyone to do. It looked to me like they moved the clue closer the second jump off of the building, but maybe it was because they shot from a different camera angle?

It was closer. They said that if you missed the first time then the clue would be moved closer.

Dana and Matt won because of their decision to have Matt do the roof jump. He was the only one who got it on the first try, and that lead held up the rest of the leg. Dana even 2nd guessed whether she should do it in case there was a more physical task later that Matt would be better at, but, ultimately, they decided to have Matt do it. TAR may have ended differently if Dana had done that roof jump.

Exactly. It made sense to have the taller of the two do that task. Whether that was something that could be anticipated from the ground, I don’t know. It may have just been luck that they decided that Matt should do it.

I enjoyed the season a lot more than I thought I would when it started. Filming of Season 29 begins in July!

In addition to Matt jumping and getting the clue the first time, I think they found the boat a lot faster than the other two because they had researched it on google and knew you could see the museum from the boat.

Sheri and Cole also researched the boat, but for some reason thought it was a museum. I don’t know how they arrived at that conclusion.

I too would have preferred that either of the other two couples would get the win, but that’s ok. It turned out to be a fantastic season of tasks and countries to visit. And pretty likeable teams.

How much you want to bet we see Tyler and Corey or Cole and mom back in an all-star season???

Already ready for another season!!!

I want this job!! Can you imagine?

I was actually happy to see Dana and Matt win. I think they are an intense, probably NE kind of couple, but a lot of love there. Tyler and Korey won lots of legs and so left with something, and had some luck along the way, but got a bit arrogant. They U-turned the frisbee guys and then thought they would have no problem beating the other two teams. Missing the clue box initially also put them behind and there was really no chance to catch up when they needed three tries for the clue. They all seemed to have no trouble with the memory challenge since they all knew it would be hash tags.

To me, ended up being a good season with interesting locations and challenges and reasonably likable teams. I liked Cole and Sherri, but they also had a lot of really good luck in coming in last for two NELs. they had the lowest average finish of any team making it to the final, so I was OK with them not winning but glad to see them do so well.

Do the runners up win any money?

@VaBluebird Yes, every team gets something. The amount is based on when you were eliminated, and it increases in increments from 1st team eliminated through the final when there is a runner-up team. But even at that, the 2nd place team doesn’t get anywhere close to a million.

I thought I once heard that the 2nd place team got $100,000.

I had been out of town and just caught up with the last three episodes. I found I liked most of the teams much better as the season went on. To me in the beginning they were performing for the camera and as time went on they became more human to me.
I was frustrated that the last episode didn’t record. I was able to watch it on demand. I’m so glad I did. This season the final city is my home. I was shocked that I hadn’t heard any rumors. It was fun to see my favorite airport and to know the locations. Santa Barbara isn’t a city where many use cabs, so I knew how difficult it was for Dana and Matt to get a cab.
I give Sheri a huge round of applause. They had quite a lot of luck but she put aside her fears and kept pushing forward. I hate heights and it seemed this season had a lot of height challenges.

Tonight at 8 PM EST the Price Is Right - Amazing Race Edition is on for one hour. Contestants include ARers Leo Temory, Jamal Zadran, Tyler Oakley, and Korey Kuhl.
