I think the speed trap was probably arranged by TAR with the locals. It helps bring a little more money to the local economy and helps keep the contestants driving within the laws which I assume must be a TAR rule to do. And realistically, in many third world countries, one could just ask the policeman giving the ticket to accept the money for the ticket as a favor - wink wink. And if that didn’t work I’m sure the police station would have probably accepted USD as payment but on their own not so favorable exchange rate terms. However, they did have a camera on them which might have swayed them to not do the favors.

I liked Winnie/Pam but they sure blew it big time on that challenge - multiple times.

I’m really liking this season of TAR. There doesn’t seem to be as much evil plotting and the racers seem a bit more likable. I didn’t like the newlyweds at the beginning, but the more I see them, the quirkier and more interesting they seem, and not so annoying. I agree that the hockey brothers are by far the strongest players, but even they can be confounded by a bad taxi driver, right? We shall see!

Finally caught up. The goats! How adorable were they? They stole the episode. The hockey brothers are ok, but one is just too in love with himself for my taste. Sorry to see Winnie and Pam go. But the older couple seem to be holding their own, and that’s refreshing. Still kind of rooting for the Roller Derby moms but there was some snippiness this week that seemed unnecessary.

I think what Winnie and Pam said was really true…you can train for endurance and strength but what you can’t train for is the anxiety that comes over you as you’re faced with certain challenges. That certainly is one of my downfalls. I either puff up instantly and battle the “dragon” or I feel defeated and scared and fall all over myself.

The reason they had American money, marbling, is because at the start of each leg the teams are given a certain amount of cash (in American dollars).

I know they are given money, but I thought it was a small amount to cover possible expenses for that leg–like cab fare. I can also remember times when teams have not had enough money and have begged for it or for free services. I wasn’t paying enough attention though, and didn’t do a conversion at the time, to figure out exactly how much the speeding tickets cost.

Well, if the producers conspired with the locals to set up the speed trap, it would make sense to give the teams enough money to pay the speeding tickets. It’s not like they were in a major city where they could beg for money from wealthy tourists!

I haven’t seen a lot of public transportation legs recently that would eat up their pocket money. Mostly they’ve been driving themselves, a few water taxis and the like, so maybe they’ve been holding on. I recall the ticket cost around $100.

I feel bad for Chuck and Wynona . . . but I so would have done the same thing!!! Rolling the cheese down the hill looked like it was so much fun . . . and it was definitely a lot faster than using the sleds. Especially the way Chuck was trying to use them. (Runners go on the bottom, Chuck!)

Once again, someone doesn’t follow the instructions in the clue, and they’re eliminated. Drives me crazy. I’ll actually miss Chuck and Wynona, I enjoyed their banter (especially hers). It was a tough leg, no question.

The moms did a good job coming from behind to finish second. Only five teams left! This season feels like it’s flying by.

I agree that this season’s flying by. I was counting the number of teams before they got to the pitstop and couldn’t believe there were only 6 teams left.

The best part had to be Chuck: “I’ve got both of these sleds, and I can’t get your ass, too”–followed by the scene with him pushing her bottom with his head.

I’m glad to see Chuck and Wynona go. Sometimes the fish out of water couples can be inspiring but not these two. She whines, he kids passive aggressively.
I don’t have a strong favorite this season, any of them would be fine to win. Switzerland sure is beautiful.

It was time to put Chuck and Wynonna “out of their misery” figuratively speaking. Watching them got to be painful. She should have prepared for the grueling nature of TAR.

Another “not” a Chuck and Wynona fan here. He was an a_s and she was starting to get on my nerves too!

The hockey players seem to be skating (sorry for the pun!) through even though besides being physically strong, I don’t know that they are a strong team. My thought is that they are achieving though because all the others teams are very average - in terms of Amazing Race teams. Can’t help but think that if Connor and Dave were still there they would be rocking these tasks.

The Youtube girl was a real sweetheart at the end how she was tearfully but honestly taking the blame for making them last - how exhausted they must have been WALKING to the pit stop!!!

Good episode last night - good challenges! The jump off the Park Inn at night - ahhhhhhh! And I thought carrying the letters was kind of hilarious!

I am SO over the country girls crush on the hockey dudes - ugh!. AND so over the hockey dudes piggybacking on others to get their traveling done. I am glad it was a non-elim for the roller derby ladies - only seconds after the hockey guys.

Youdon’tsay, it was a non-elimination round. The roller derby ladies came in last. I thought it was a pretty boring leg, to be honest. There were lots of people here, though, so that may have been part of it. I DVRd it so I may watch again alone!

I really hope that Max and Katie don’t win. She is so unlikeable, and they are such a strange couple.
