Amazon Fresh grocery service

Anyone use Amazon Fresh to get groceries? I understand Amazon offers its one day grocery home deliveries in LA, Frisco, and Seattle areas now. Amazon is building distribution centers in Tampa area right now…maybe they’ll offer grocery service down the road in Tampa with robots and drones delivering groceries to my home?

I did see the neighbor getting a delivery last month, but I like to get my own stuff & we like walking to the grocery store. However, if I had a young child who had meltdowns in the grocery store and we had to leave our cart at the counter, I would think it was a godsend, possibly even worth the higher prices & $299 prime fresh membership.

Safeway delivers also.

The groceries home delivery would be great for elderly folks in Florida who can’t/shouldn’t drive to store.

Our local supermarket is about to start a service in which you order your groceries online, then drive through and pick them up. There will be no charge if you buy more than $125 worth of groceries. I’m looking forward to it!

Oh, I’ve never heard of this… how interesting! I hate grocery shopping. I’d pay someone a small sum to do it for me in a heartbeat. (Though, really I can’t complain as the bulk of it is done by my fiance… he’d probably pay someone, too, if we could afford it lol!)

My elderly parents have been using a local service for years. They don’t drive, so it has been a great help to them. I could see this as also good for students in dorms who don’t have a car, for occasional treats and exam care packages. Nice to think they could get fresh fruit and healthy choices.

Romani, I think some meijer stores are doing something where you can order everything online and pick up at the curb. I saw something about it when I used to shop there, but I don’t have a convenient meijer anymore where I live now.

When I was in college the nearest grocery store was a 30 minute or so bus ride away, which basically made it take up most of a day when you took into account all the stops and all the waiting around for the bus to actually come, plus the time spent shopping. So, so freaking unpleasant. I’d have been all over this. Now that we have convenient grocery stores, this doesn’t seem worthwhile to me as much as I dislike shopping – I’m not organized enough to commit to my weeks groceries without actually going to the store and walking the aisles!
