American Exam

Hi, I’m an international student. I want to know something about american high school system, such as marks and exams. If you take a course, can you be examined by the teacher every day or have you one date for the exam, after the course…?

The general grading system goes like this:
A = 90-100%
B = 80-89%
C = 70-79%
D = 65-69%
5 = Below 65%
For Grade Point Averages:
4.0 = A
3.0 = B
2.0 = C
1.0 = D
0.0 = F
Exams:
Exams are whenever the teacher wants to give them, such as tests after you finish a unit, or weekly quizzes. Midterms are given in the middle of the school year, final exams at the end of the year or after you’ve taken the course.

It seems that american system is easier than italian system…
However you can’t do a comparisons between letter grades and number grades. In my school that is one of the best of the city(Rome) there isn’t anybody that have a GPA of 10; we use a decimal scale.
Teachers don’t consider 10, usally they give marks from 8 to 1…
