American Idol 2015 Thread!

I ALWAYS seem to like the boys and MORE boys than girls.

Last night Clark was the “winner” for me. I’m putting a good amount of $$ on him right now.

I liked Clark also. This season seems to have a larger percentage of self-accompaniment, particularly guitar.

I like Clark, too. And Michael. and some whose name I can’t remember. I am really surprised that they put the little boy who looks 12 through. I was not that impressed with his voice, but he does have a cute personality. I was happy to see that the X on Jax’ face was not a tattoo. The young ones all seemed appreciative of their parents which is nice to see.

I REALLY don’t like the way they are putting them into pairs by “types” for decisions. Two country boys, two crazy hair girls, two blonde girls, and then choose one as if they are interchangeable. They should be choosing the best 24 singers, period. I don’t like the “casting” feel of it.

Wow, the pace is so fast tonight it’s making my head spin! LOL. I really like it, though. Love that the judges are limited to a few sentences. Enjoyed the first six performances, but agree with the judges about Trevor.

I appreciated not having two hours, but thought one hour was not enough. Clearly the judges were told to be brief and mostly positive - thought their comments were pretty pointless.

Contestants all seemed like they had excess energy and were NERVOUS. Song choices, kind of odd!!

My top 3: Clark, Riley, tie for Nick/Savion. Though Quentin was pretty good too but I didn’t know his song.
My bottom three : Adam (don’t get him), Trevor (TRAIN WRECK) , Mark (boring).

I also think live shows will be better.

Wow! That screaming Jay Hawkins rendition was something else. The auditions and selection process is pretty unentertaining but they did get a couple of good performers in the end. Judges are still annoying at best.

Don’t know the names, but loved Thinking Out Loud and When a Man Loves a Woman.

^^^ That would be Nick and Clark.

How many will be cut? I can’t remember if they said from 24 to 18 or to 16. Unfortunately, I think Trevor had the worst vocal of the night. I hope he gets another chance. And I don’t know why Daniel is even in the top 24. I didn’t think Riley had a good night, although I have liked him during the other rounds. Maybe I just wasn’t familiar with his song choice. I’ve always liked Michael, too, but didn’t think this was his best performance.

Sorry this post is so negative, but the good outweighed the bad so it’s easier to list the not-so-good. On a positive note, I loved Clark! And “I Put a Spell on You” was kinda spooky…in a good way.

Sounds like this will be a good show. Anything that shuts the judges up is a good thing. Now if they can get the cameras to focus on the performers instead of Jenny from the Block, I’ll be content.

But she’s really pretty. I laughed at how Keith Urban sings every song.

Sure, she’s pretty. But we aren’t tuning in to spend half the time watching her. After a certain amount of time, you just don’t care. It’s annoying.

I get Adam, it’s the Jack Black factor. Big guy, entertaining, great voice.

Michael, very nice. Savion, meh, disappointed because I liked him. Mark, boring song. Trevor, agree, not good. Bummer because I like him. Clark sounded pretty good, but not as good as I thought, reading the comments. Maybe I should turn up the volume.

Goosies all day, goosies all day! Ugh! Can’t stand the goosie thing.

Quentin was fantastic. A cut above the others.

However, his appearance is just plain creepy to me. Kind of like he’s stranded on an island, shipwrecked somewhere, and some rich old ladies clothing washed up on the shore. Nose rings are disgusting to look at. I keep thinking of cows.

I can’t keep the names straight :frowning:

I can’t remember them either, which is why I am posting so much immediately after the performances. For some reason I can manage to remember the two particularly attractive guys…Nick and Rayvon. Not quite sure why my memory works that way

I liked the big guy with the big hair. The guy from NOLA was kinda intense!

Who is the guy from NOLA?

Agree with Youdon’tsay and abasket… Clark and Nick. Qaasim actually had a good song choice! If I had been watching this Detroit show live, I would have been wishing that I was in Ann Arbor instead, eating a Reuben Sandwich at Zingerman’s Deli.

Tyanna is going to kill it tomorrow night…
