H and I thought it was a really good night. Much better performances than usual for the first night. Liked almost everyone, did not like Trevor, have never liked Trevor. Wasn’t wild about Daniel, he’s the 15 yo, right?
We thought Mark had one of the best performances, see how different taste can be. We love The Band though. Liked Nick also, love that song!
It also cracks us up that Keith knows and sings all the songs. Makes him very endearing.

I’m only about an hour from Detroit - was a little tempting to try and get tickets for these shows.
He probably won’t do it but Quentin would do well (for me anyway) to get rid of the nose rings for the show. He has some talent I think. My 17 yr old D loves him.
Have we always voted at top 24? It makes me a little nervous to have to rely on America to get rid of the right 4. (yes, getting rid of 4 guys and 4 girls this week- well, I think to be announced last week).
Daniel needs to stop looking like “look at me! I’m so young and cute - can you believe how young and cute I am?!” He may have some talent but he’s going to have to step it up.

Shi needs to go. You are beautiful woman. You cannot sing a note. She NEVER should have got a spot this far.
Shannon - FLAT. Awful.
I personally love Katherine. Her voice gives ME goosies. The judges didn’t warm up to her though. Hmmm.
Also Joey - take the accordion and find somewhere else to play. I don’t care for her voice. AI is not her venue IMO!

I was mostly underwhelmed by the girls. Tyanna was good but I did not think her song choice really showed off her talent. I only remember 2 or 3 of their names. I didn’t understand a single word of one of the girls’ songs, but I don’t know her name. I think she sang Pink.
The girl who sang Pink was Shannon. It was NOT good!

She was the third one. She’s the Hispanic girl with long blond hair who sang a country song.
Alexis Gomez, the blonde who Harry said should “lose the guitar” if she didn’t feel comfortable with it.
Gunpowder and Lead was the song. I had to look it up, but I remember thinking that I liked her version better than Miranda’s.
Alexis was rather off key. I thought she went downhill. Lovey-yuck, Adanna started out really good but got off key at the end. I’m hoping for at least one good performance. Joey-yuck, trying to be too quirky, just be good.
abasket, I liked Katherine, too. Agree about Shi. She needs to go be a model.
Katherine sang beautifully. I could listen to her, for sure. Shannon just stunk, if you are going to sing a Pink song, you’d better rock it. Loren is a little too confident, she seems to think she’s amazing, and it’s just kind of irritating. Shi—why is she on this show anyways?
Hate me if you will but I thought Jax was the winner tonight. My favorite, Tyanna, didn’t have her best performance.
Jax did a really good job. However, she is just kind of affected and weird, so I’m not crazy about her. Maddie-meh. So they have all these beautiful girls, but not enough talent. They should have picked the other girl last week, who didn’t quite have “the look” that Maddie did. Unfortunate they seem to be choosing girls on looks, not talent. Sarina-Joi, nice job. Tyanna didn’t do as good as I’d hoped. The judges are seriously overpraising. Man, when they sing the current songs of really good singers…kind of a mistake, unless they are fantastic.
