Reopening since the new season starts tonight. Who’s watching?
Thanks!!! I missed the beginning of the first audition and gather that the kid with the guitar was singing with his dad, who is someone in the music industry. I confess I didn’t recognize him. Who was it??
You missed quite a few then.
Dad is Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys
I was watching some new law show and forgot AI was on.
What did I miss? I then missed the person they put through but who they thought as shreaking a bit. The next guy was unfortunate (to be diplomatic) but the girl who sang with her back to them with sunglasses on was good. Hope she finds confidence. Her mom would be proud. I miss @jshain’s opinions of the singers.
My ‘shill’….

I watched the Love Is Blind reunion so missed quite a bit.
HI!!! Welcome back!!
West coast here. Watching now! Yay, great to see you @jshain !
Bunsen, I haven’t returned. Still waiting to get my second wind! Nice to hear from you!!

Is anyone watching? Kolbi’s rendition of Amazing Grace was phenomenal!
We have been watching all season. The talent level is insane. We didn’t watch the first season, but we watched for many years thereafter, though not in recent years. Not sure how we got into this year, but I am glad we did. Carrie made some comment recently about how she was thankful that she didn’t have to compete against this caliber of talent when she was a contestant. Everyone comes in so much more polished than they used to.
I do wonder if there are non-Christian contestants who were uncomfortable with last night. Not everyone sang something overtly Christian (eg someone sang, “Bridge Over Troubled Water”), but given the day and the song choices of most, it was a pretty Christian show.
As a Christian, I was really uncomfortable with the theme of last night’s show. Supposedly, that was at Carrie’s insistence.
Agree that the talent this year is amazing. A couple got through last night that I wouldn’t have picked, but I don’t vote so can’t complain.
I was quite uncomfortable with the Christian theme, especially as it was Passover, too.
America got it right last night.
Who are y’all’s faves? I like Gabby Simone and John Foster, though I didn’t love his Neon Moon. Good, not great. Oh, and Breanna Nix.
Raised strict Christian and still last night’s episode left a bad taste in my mouth. And in general, for the last couple of years the contestants seem to have skewed gospel (before that - country). I would like more variety and less religion. There is a time and place for everything…
Those are our top 3, too! We also like Mattie Pruitt, but she is very young.
I’m blown away by the talent this season. There are some real stars in there. I expect we’ll hear about several in the next years.
I was uncomfortable with the Easter theater episode. But loved the duet with Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake
I’m not loving this week thus far.
I didn’t quite “get” the Commodores song, but the rest has been great. That last rendition of fire and rain was spectacular.
