dis-grace, my take on that was Syesha, though I like her to a point, doesn’t have a strong enough voice, nor the stage presence (yet, at least), to be on the same stage with the likes of Seal. Perhaps she was somewhat intimidated, with good reason.

I thought David Cook meshed well with ZZTop though.

alwaysamom: Though Miley Cyrus also pretty atrocious, she’s a virtuoso compared to the Jonas Brothers. ;)

Knock me over with a feather, I was sure David A was going to win though our household favored David C from the start. Heard somewhere yesterday Simon’s “trick” to push his fave in the final is to make it seem like he favors the other…so many people vote against whoever Simon pretends to favor the other one wins…
Thought from the performances Michael and Carly should have been #3 and #4.Jason and Syesha were weak, especially Syesha when paired with the likes of Seal and Donna Summer (very impressed her voice was really still strong).
Odd giving George Micheal so much airtime so close to the end and he does look odd. Enjoyed Brooke and Graham Nash. She looked happy they sounded good and I was transported back to seeing them (CSN&Y) at the Fillmore East.LOL I’m dating myself…
The movie placement stuff was weird, period. When the Jonas Brothers were “singing” I couldn’t help but wonder how they would have done at Idol auditions!

“When the Jonas Brothers were “singing” I couldn’t help but wonder how they would have done at Idol auditions!”

Agreed! I wondered the same thing when Fantasia put on her bizarre, hard-to-listen-to and harder-to-watch performance the other night. I still can’t figure out how she won.

Agreed; the themes were horrible and the song choices were the same thing every week. I wish the contestants were required to sing songs outside of their genre every week. Idol has gone downhill since Chris Daughtry was eliminated.
