My son ws accepted to Kogod School of Business. Unfortunately, no merit was awarded in the letter just the standard $5500 loan that everyone is eligible for and we filled out the CSS profile. Does anyone know if they negotiate, and give merit if you ask?

First, congrats! Based on past years, AU doesn’t negotiate merit aid. That being said, it doesn’t hurt to try if your son makes a good case.

Son accepted for international affairs—4.25 wgpa, 33 ACT, varsity tennis four years and lots of community service. Admitted to Honors Program. Scholarship offer ($12,000) is less than what he has received at higher-ranked schools, which is disappointing. Congrats to all others who were admitted and best of luck to those deferred and still looking for a good spot to land.

Daughter accepted today for political science major, and accepted to the Honors College with a Dean’s Scholarship ($15,000)! Very excited, but need to make sure we can make the numbers work. It’s still so expensive!

Upward trend - straight A’s last 4 semesters
Leadership, athlete (captain 2 years), clubs, job all year for 3 years.
No demontrated interest.
Not sure she’ll submit a LOCI. Already accepted with merit at a school that was one of her top choices and ranks higher. Will likely decide to concentrate on going to see schools she is accepted to as oppossed to the one she was deferred at.

Congrats to all who got in! DC is a great city with lots of opportunity!

Son accepted EA for Religious Studies

Test optional
6 APs
Tons of leadership and interesting ECs
Toured, informational interview, attended a webinar or two

Unfortunately, the FA package was less than half given by a few other schools with similar admit rates and well below the NPC. Bummed because American was one of his top choices.
