I was just able to make an account. It says congrats but for Spring of 2018. Does anyone know if this is just some kind of mistake?

@Sam747 I have the same thing! I’m thinking it could be a mistake but they’re more than likely offering us Spring admission, not sure how likely it is to be a mistake though
my D actually got in!! got the email while we were in Walmart. But no $$ so would be full pay. today Elon offered 5K.
her stats were 28 ACT and ~3.5 GPA, but tons of EC, and volunteer work, including a semester in High school Abroad. WE really thought she was rejected.

This is the first time I’ve heard of being accepted for the following year, 2018. What does that mean? Is it like a guarantee of admittance for next year or is it a typo or something? I’m just glad I got into Colby and Bowdoin.
@LibbyK I’m right there with you! My child got an acceptance letter today in NY, but did not get into the Honors Program although they were awarded a Presidential Scholarship for $18,000- but that leaves the cost at $45,000 per year. There was nothing about a National Merit Scholarship either (National Merit Finalist) which American advertises as one of their scholarships. The test scores are terrific (35 ACT, 2260/1590 old SAT) and 97.25 unweighted GPA with multiple AP classes with 5 on those exams and a lot of extra-curricular activities! I’m pretty disappointed because we went down to visit campus twice, my child met with the admissions counselor twice at their school, we went to a reception when they visited the area, emailed the admissions counselor a handful of times…I’m not sure what else could have been done to express real interest. There are other options, but this is the first choice school. I’m disappointed that it’s turned out this way. I had read that American does not offer a lot of merit aid to top applicants because they figure the students view them as a safety school, but that was not the case here.

My portal said that like spring thing but I just received my acceptance packet in the mail for fall 2017!!
