An ethical dilemma

Jym: Yes, I have had several “bad” days regarding the uncle. I am literally the only he can turn to for assistance. When he lived here (rent free including meals) and I was facing chemo he was of no help. (that means he wouldn’t stay in the house with me on bad days to watch me and bring me a glass of water). I can truly say that on a personal level he wasn’t a good person…with everything that the statement implies.

LasMas I am going to this site now.

And to all: I do get it. I have pictured several scenarios that are beyond what has been said here.

Someone asked me how my relative can “afford” a health club. As a social worker explained to me…There are some low level health clubs that offer no deposit and 20. per month fees. Homeless people who still have self respect go and work out and then shower. They will…on occasion go into the showers clothed to clean their clothes. The latter being very important. Then they take a nap there to prepare them for nights of no sleep.

My FIL is in his 90s and still drives, I don’t like his driving now, but I did not like it 30 years ago either, a former pilot, he is rather assertive. He was in a car accident a year or so ago and, darn it, it was the other guy’s fault, reaffirming to FIL that he is a good driver. Don;t get me wrong, FIL is actually not a danger due to his age, I just don’t like his assertive LA style of driving

While a 93 yr old utilizing the services of a low cost “health club” for showering, washing and sleeping is … um… creative, one would think that the management might begin to have some concerns for this person spending so much time there, and might call the CA Department of Aging for help with alternative/appropriate services [Programs & Services for Seniors, Caregivers & Adults with Disabilities - California Department of Aging - State of California](http://www.aging.ca.gov/Programs/)

Lots of good services on their website http://www.aging.ca.gov/Programs/#MSSP</a>
You are obviously made out of very strong moral fiber, ellebud, especially since this relative did nothing to help you when you needed it.
