This loss really stings. RIP Bob…
Absolutely loved his humor. Rest peacefully
RIP. This one hurts but he had a good ride and a great legacy of humor.
Tell me no…
He was one of my favorites, I loved both of his TV shows.
I still watch reruns of both shows - he was the best!

“Honey, wake up! You won’t believe the dream I just had."
Arguably one of the best series finales of all time.
I first knew of him as Professor Proton in The Big Bang Theory, but through classic TV channels, have seen many episodes of his iconic shows
RIP Bob.
Best deadpan, dry humor ever.
We still have albums of his (and Tom Lehrer’s) stand up routines and Tom Lehrer’s songs. Clever, witty, funny stuff.
My father looked like Bob Newhart and had the same dry sense of humor. I liked catching old episodes of Newhart’s shows because it brought me back to my father who passed away 11 years ago.
If you have the chance take a look at some of his stand up. He was a classic.
He was a funny guy whose humor never seemed stale, even after decades.
CNN’s Lou Dobbs just died too.He was a fixture.
Bob Newhart was one of my all time favorites. He sure left a great legacy for any comedian or actor to follow. What a talented guy. Thank goodness for reruns!
Absolutely one of the funniest scenes in television history
I loved Bob Newhart in a small role he had in Hell is for Heroes, in which he performed very earnest sounding fake telephone conversations from a foxhole as he pretended that there were too many soldiers in an effort to convince eavesdropping Germans that they were outnumbered. Later, I loved his relationship with his TV-wife Suzanne Pleshette; they had wonderful chemistry. He will be missed.
I enjoyed everything Bob Newhart was in, but I especially liked him as Professor Proton. He played him perfectly!
CBS will pay tribute to late comedian Bob Newhart with Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter special set to air on the network on Monday, July 22 at 8 pm ET/PT and streaming on Paramount+
The Newhart finale was more hysterical at the time because it’s how Dallas brought back main character Bobby who was was killed during the prior season–essentially saying the last season didn’t exist.
