Andover Decisions

Every other school has thread about it so why not? :grimacing:

This one might not have as many. If you check the fedex website, the winter storm has caused delays in shipping.

Here’s what website says:
A winter storm is causing disruptions and delays in CT, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI and VT.

Ugh, that’s so annoying! kfjdajsklf i was so mentally prepared for this new!

*NOT prepared is what I meant ahahha

Do we know how long the packages have been delayed for?

Not sure. We had about 12 - 24 inches here in massachusetts…

I just got accepted with a full scholarship!!!

@ballerina22: Congrats! Did you receive the package in the mail? I wonder how backed up they are.

Hugs to you, ballerina!!!  :)

I got in, too! So pumped!!

Congrats! And did you guys receive packages?

Hi there,

Congratulations to Ballerina and Jackpa! That’s wonderful!!! How did you hear? FedEx, mail or email? What part of the country are you in?

So curious as to whether all the packages made it out last night or not…
I saw that Andover, MA was one of the towns that had “partially affected/ delayed service” on March 8th, according to FedEx’s own website. Some towns in MA (for example: ALL towns on Martha’s Vineyard) had their service completely discontinued, due to the extreme weather- but that was NOT the case for Andover, MA. They just had a “partial interruption.” What exactly that means, it didn’t say.

The waiting is tough but best of luck to everyone, waiting to hear back! Hopefully, we’ll all know soon enough. Until then, I’m sending joyful thoughts to you all! And again, AWESOME news, Ballerina and Jackpa! Way to go!

Cheers,
Goforprep

Yes, a thin package from Fedex. Had a buncha papers that I just read through at least three times. :D

Yeah, there were 2 folders, 1 containing info about acceptance/revisit days, and the other about financial aid. GAhhh I can’t believe it! I’M GOING TO ANDOVER!!!

I live in Connecticut. Still waiting on Andover. Waiting and Waiting. How long is the delay!!! I cant wait anymore!!!

This is from the service disruption explained by Fedex.

@Goforprep

“Note that potential service disruptions may not affect FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight, FedEx Office, etc. the same. This may result in different levels of impact as well as cities, states and ZIP Codes serviced.”

I assume transportation via air to the west cost must be delayed. Planes can’t take off in a winter storm. And for other packages, I assume that some towns have issues with mailboxes, etc. being covered. so possibly delay there too.

Oh well, good luck to all of you once again! =P

Thanks PrepQWill.

to ballerina, it has been a long haul and you have persevered as much as any young teenager could be expected . . . from last year’s experience to this year’s PA scholarship, you have grown tremendously. You’re on cloud nine now. Living this dream will be a treasured experience all the more successful for the “testing” that you have passed through. Congratulations!!

I just got my package!!! I really don’t know what to do with myself right now!!! I’m entering as a lower. I am so grateful for the resource that is CC and hopefully this day brings all of you good news :)

@Charger78 - thanks so much  Looking back now, I’m SO happy last year didn’t work out. Andover is the perfect school for me, and I didn’t apply there last year because I thought there was no way in heck I would get accepted. I was devastated when it didn’t work out, but if it had, I wouldn’t have been able to go to Andover. I have never really been a big believer in a greater power, nor have I ever believed that “what’s meant to happen will happen,” because it seems way too convenient to have an alternate source determining your fate. However, today’s occurrences have made me feel otherwise. Maybe there is no god, but everything does happen for a reason. I couldn’t be happier:)
