Under the circumstances, I believe officers showed impressive restraint, in that they could easily have justified shooting the suspect, citing the rationale that he posed an imminent danger to both police and the public. It sounds like this suspect may have been suffering from a mental illness. The fact that mental illnesses aren’t being adequately addressed in this country, and that a alarming proportion of fatal police encounters occur between law enforcement and people needing treatment for such illnesses, is a issue deserving its own thread.
I hate cops so much lol America’s justice system is ridiculous. Cops are going around murdering people while teachers are facing years in jail for dishonesty smh. What are we coming to?
@poetsheart I think I agree, but I find it interesting how the other officer reacted. He was clearly thinking “what the blank did this other cop just do”.
