It’s really hard to know what someone wants in a dress who’s not on cc herself and can let us know specifically what to look for. This one is nice…v neck is good for ample chests and has comfortable sleeves…

PS: Hi Jym! Read that you had a big birthday…hope you had a nice celebration! :)

Consolation: The dress you linked was also pretty! (Mon Cheri) The Saks ones were beautiful but I’d have to take another mortgage out on the house! ;)

Dont want to derail this thread, but yes, had a WONDERFUL birthday celebration with 125 of my closest friends . It was truly a wonderful event. Unfortunately I have been stretching out the celebrating for a month, so have been avoiding the scale and the weight loss for dummies thread Oh, did I mention my anniversary is coming up? More eating…

That dress you linked is very pretty, chchip

This one may be too formal for a day wedding too, but it comes in long OR tea length and in a gazillion colors. Mom60: have your friend check out that TJformal dot com website!

This one is beautiful too, but not sure if she’d like it if she has an ample bust. Yikes, as soon as I see someone needs help dress shopping I can’t stop myself! My name is Chocchip and I have a dress finding addiction!

I just linked the same dress as the one above, but hopefully the picture will be larger. Lots of beautiful detail on this dress. Also found on the same website…

Edit: yeah, this picture is bigger. Mom60: How we doin’? Could any of them be in the ballpark? Let us know!

If she’s curvy and buxom–I love that word :)–something that drapes diagonally with a V neck is likely to be flattering. And comfortable. Some of these dresses look like they would be torture to wear for an evening.

I like the idea of ivory and some lace…keeping it bride-like. I like the idea of tea length making it more bride like without being a wedding gown. Also, that idea would fit a daytime wedding more than an evening gown style would.

Of the dresses linked to so far by the searchers above, I like:

I loved the lace tea length that chocchipcookie found and that soozievt linked in post 36. I will let you know what my friend thinks.
I loved the Komarov beaded v neck online but saw it live in the store today. It looks a bit lingerie like.
I don’t see her in satin. She won’t where above the knee.
Chocchipcookie- have you ordered from that site?

Mom60: I also like the one I posted in #31…it is an actual tea length below the knee and it comes in many, many colors! (Nice v neck for ample bust line, fuller skirt)

No, I have not ordered from this website before but found it several months ago when helping others to find dresses. It seems to me just from reading their “about us” that they seem like a legitimate business, one of the first to have an internet site and looks like they’ve been around for many years…shows pictures of stores and of staff…I’m sure your friend could call with specific questions and possible fabric samples…many of the dresses on sale are very limited in quantity, but many of the others there seems to be a great selection…if it’s not in stock, then it looks like a 13-15 week order turn around time…when is her wedding? I’m sure the staff would be quite helpful…this looks like a keeper website for me down the road when it’ll be my turn to look for dresses (waaaay down the road!;))
