Laurence O’Donnell said it. However, I think the Chris Lee was the first person to have a sex scandal without sex (at least an affair never was revealed.)

After reading soke of the texts between Weiner and the women, let’s not forget not one of them said for him to STOP with the suggestive texts…They all participated and this probably helped him push the envelope further…without their responses, some of what we read would not exist…He still is a lowlife, regardless

They pushed him? My guess is one or two played along out of curiosity just to see how far he would take it. Participated, yes. Pushed him into doing something he might not have otherwise, no way. He would have moved on until he found someone else. The ones who said STOP are not the type who would ever come forward anyway…

“Pushed him”? No. Responded because they were flattered? Probably. That doesn’t excuse him.

Obviously in this country (unlike – oh, France, maybe? ;)) we don’t like our elected officials to engage in any kind of hanky panky – gay or straight, in reality or virtually, anything outside of marriage. Those are the rules in this country, period, full stop. Why can’t these guys know that, accept that, and behave accordingly?

Where did i say ‘pushed him’ ,i said push the envelope further…if the women didn’t respond,or better yet, respond in a suggestive manner, they would NOT have received the pics…not to say he wouldn’t have found someone else, but it does take two…reading the texts from the LV blackjack dealer, her comments were extremely salacious…Weiner is a dirtbag, without question…But the women involved are hardly innocent…

^^^ Agree. Go to radaronline and read the texts for yourself. She was not a sexually harrassed victim. ;)

I have not read the texts. I have no doubt the women he was sexting were NOT being harassed. That said, the “class” of women he was sexting does not somehow lessen the dirty deed, does it? I think it makes it worse… at least from the wife’s point of view.

Absolutely makes it worse from his wife’s view…

I’m not passing judgment on the women for engaging in dirty talk. I don’t think it makes them more or less “classy” than anyone else. Just wanted to point out that in this instance there appears to be no harassment.

I have read the texts, and can assure you, anyone with a fingernail of class, would NEVER speak to someone they DON’T know like that…classless is a perfect description

Look, you’re never going to find me defending the woman, especially because she knew he was married. But I don’t think two consenting adults engaging in this activity makes either of them less “classy.” Do I think it’s reckless and stupid behavior? Yes. This stuff doesn’t float my boat, but as long as it’s not illegal I don’t feel compelled to condemn her.

ETA: Not sure I’ve explained myself well. I’m saying that all kinds of stuff fall within the range of “normal” sexual activity. Some people want to sext, some look at porn, some like to dress up as the naughty nurse and patient. I’m not here to say what’s OK and what’s not. The fact that two people engaged in this isn’t the problem for me; it’s that at least one was married and this falls into the category of “cheating” to me. And that’s aside from the fact that his wife is pg, making him a special kind of pig. And that he’s a public official who should know better. LOTS not to like here.

Jon Stewart shared some of these texts last night. If you didn’t see the show last night, you must watch. It’s beyond hilarious. It’s after the first break, check it out when it’s online later. One bright spot in this whole affair.

Where does a woman who KNOWS Weiner is married bear some responsibility in this? And once again,i am not defending Weiner, but this particular woman is classless, period…read the excerpts and tell me otherwise

And now his wife is pregnant?

Trust me, qdog, we are 98% in agreement here. What I was reading is people saying the activity itself makes a woman less “classy” generally, rather than this case specifically. I don’t really care what consenting adults do behind close doors as long as it isn’t illegal. If I were to find out that a friend was sexting with her dh, I’d giggle and be shocked, shocked this kind of activity was going on. But I wouldn’t think less of her.

I did read some of the texts but quit when it got beyond even my admittedly low bar. Maybe if I’d read the whole thing I’d feel differently.

I also don’t care what a couple texts each other. If your a couple, and you want to sext, go for it. Keep it to yourself, and PRAY that you never divorce and he uses it against you or your kids find it. That couple is still classy in my mind if they keep it in their relationship/marriage. But a married man who sexts a woman who is basically a stranger, and a woman who sexts a random political shirt who is married and who she is not in a relationship with, NOT CLASSY AT ALL. AND NAKED PICTURES sent between near strangers, sent by a married man to a woman not his wife, as low class as they get.

^^^exactly^^^

On the subject of what men like to look at and what they think women want to look at…When I was in college, a roommate bought one of the Playgirl calendars and then promptly cut out shapes to cover up what she didn’t want to see. So Mr. February had a little heart; Mr. March had a shamrock. You get the idea.

I am always reminded of the story about the little cousins who bathed together: one boy and one girl. When they got out of the bath, the little girl commented to her mother: “Thank goodness it isn’t on his face!” That’s it, guys. Most of us don’t care to look.

Well, the woman from Vegas ASKED to have the pixs ,so i guess perhaps some women enjoy to take a look

Great story, MDmom! I’m sure most women are happy “it isn’t on his face!”

I just watched the Jon Stewart clip - it shouldn’t be missed! Sopranomom is right - beyond hilarious! “… copyright infringement…”
