Too bad they can’t straighten out the budget the way they can straighten out their… oh, never mind.

Wow - first my congressman (Chris Lee), now this guy…makes you wonder how many others are out there that just haven’t gotten caught yet…

Slightly off topic… does anyone remember an old department store that used to be (I think… I don’t think they’re there anymore) called Weiner’s in Houston?

I think I became desensitized to Weiner jokes because my mom always made us shop at Weiners. I just had to learn to say the word without the associations or I’d never get to go shopping.

I was shocked by this turn of events. I believed him when he said that his account had been hacked because sending the photo like this would have been such a strange thing to do. I think he’ll have to resign.

Lately it seems like every man or male politician is doing something of this nature and covering it up and/or lying about it and then coming clean once their lies are exposed. My faith in men (or male politicians) is starting to diminish when I see how common this behavior seems to be! I do feel sorry for his newlywed wife. Apparently she learned of the lie this morning.

I’d like a nickel for every male politician who’s done something stupid sexually and been caught.

I could forego that vast sum of money and instead go with a penny for every male politician who’s done something stupid sexually and hasn’t yet been caught. I’d probably be just as rich.

And I’d pay a dollar for every female politician who’s done something stupid sexually. Because there aren’t any.

As a follow up to my post #45, I will add that while this behavior in ANY man is awful, I find it particularly STUPID for a guy who is a politician who knows that they will be under public scrutiny and people digging for dirt and it is unbelievable to me that they take this kind of risk to lose it all in their career, not to mention the damage to their personal relationships.

What a liar!! I hate that!!

Agree with all the above - this gets a 10 on the ICK scale. He lied about sending the pics. If he really takes responsibility then he should resign and get out of the public view. Will the folks in NYC vote for him for mayor? Geez, I hope not.

LOL- the picture in which he’s making a goofy face and holding a piece of paper reading, “me”

I have always felt strongly that when a guy lies about something, it adds insult to injury because whatever they did was bad enough but then when a lie is added to it, it is doubly awful and made much worse. It also destroys trust. It was bad enough he did this, especially when married, but the layer of lies on top of it, increases the damage caused.

This comes as a shock. I knew that something was wrong last week, because he was so strangely evasive, but before the scandal broke he was one of my favorite representatives. I do feel sorry for his wife. I wonder whether the marriage will survive. In her place, I could not go on with someone who is 46 years old and capable of such juvenile behavior.

I find it astounding that he thought he could get away with sending x-rated photos of himself to strangers. He is one of the most outspoken and provocative politicians out there - didn’t he think people would be gunning for him?

What a disgusting, immature scumbag. Soozie, I second what you said about lying and destroying trust. If I were his wife, I would resign from the position of being his wife and deliver my resignation speech with a rolling pin in my hand.

I hope his wife is not pregnant.

He should resign because he clearly doesn’t understand what 50% of his constituents consider sexually attractive.

Who here thinks that picture (or any picture of that man’s body) is the least bit attractive?

Ewwww… 10 char.

Not raising hand.

I think that he wonders too. I think that is why he was so emotional. Yeah, lets hope she’s not pregnant.

What a pig. I’m curious what you all think the public opinion would be if a female politician sent explicit pic’s? Would she be seen as worse than the men who have done the same thing?

His wife is 35 (I just checked). I’m putting myself in her place. She was probably wondering whether she would find someone in time to have children. They married about a year ago, right? I would have tried to get pregnant right away.

Of course, I have no idea what is going on in her head. For all I know, she has no interest in having children.

In her place, a short marriage, no kids, I would be out the door.
