Anti-Gay-Marriage Leader Resigns

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061102/ap_on_re_us/haggard_sex_allegations

Juicy!

Well, it’s a lawsuit unless there’s a blue dress.

lawsuit, how so? he denies it, but me thinketh there may be something to it…we shall see

isn’t he married…jsut wondering

Unless there’s evidence, making public allegations like that can get you sued.

The accuser has letters and phone messages from the ‘Evangelist’

“Unless there’s evidence, making public allegations like that can get you sued.”

Yeah, but I think the libel might go the other way. Best defense against libel is the truth.

We aren’t going to see a lawsuit, just more steamy sex of the closeted gay Republican variety. But could be worse - could have been more Rudy or Newt.

Stay the course.

Did anyone see the documentary “Jesus Camp?” That minister was featured in a segment of that movie. The movie reported that the man spoke with President Bush and his advisors every Monday morning. He also says, on camera, “If the evangelicals vote, they determine the election.”

I think he was conducting scientific experiments. He wanted to find the ‘cure’.

he also thinks that science is wrong and that the earth is really young

But, he can see my future. He has told many times that My kind of people are going to hell.

saw him in an interview on youtube…very passive aggresive type…

Have you guys heard of many gay people having “gaydars” (like a radar)? Many gay people can tell if a stranger is one of their own–sorta like the mutants knowing the presence of others in X-Men. I was just looking at his picture/videos and my gaydar went off like crazy!

P2N: someone’s unlikely to sue if the other party has proof. E.g., if the person making the allegation has voicemails and other collaborating material as he says, the jig is up.

The fact that Haggard resigned from both his positions so precipitously also puts a thumb on the scales.

Okay pulling this out four days before the election is below contempt. It was the lead story on “Nightlline” last night; they also informed their audience it will be covered on “Good Morning America” this morning.

At least the Kerry story touches on a real issue: how the left, the people who may be voted into the majority in Congress, views our military during a time of war. And this story is meaningful, why? I guess it, like the Foley story, is supposed to suppress the Evangelical vote, thereby hurting the Republicans. I don’t happen to know any Evangelicals, so I don’t know if this will be the case, but I kind of doubt it. I wonder how long Democrat operatives have had this story in their back pocket? The man resigned imnediately (as did Foley). This latest “October surprise”, comprised of nothing but exposing a decent man, who is not even in the political arena, for a human failing (adultery) just causes me to further distain the Democrat party. I thought the Democrats believed a man’s private life was supposed to remain private (a la Clinton). Only when it suits their purposes, I guess.

The Rebublicans turned private lives into public domain. I don’t know why on earth you are upset.

And how is Kerry’s individual blunderous comment some sort of window into the thinking of those on the left? He is one person, not the party!

Sometimes, your hysteria over the evils of liberals is almost funny! It really will be OK, even if the Democrats take the House. ;)

If you’ve read any of my other posts, AM, I am far from a hysterical Republican. But enjoy your chuckle if you must. (I voted for Clinton twice.) Enjoy this lovely day.

to me that left just a touch of texture of the situation out of the description. An married Evangelical Christian leader who openly opposes against gay marriage (I have no idea what he says about homosexuality in general) is cheating on his wife by going to a male prostitute regularly over many years … adultery is certainly a component of the story but far from the the only part. The analogy to Clinton does not work for mw … the issue this situations raise for me is that any person who publically comments and draws judements in the personal choices and moral choices of others (which this man did) is put in a compromising position when they don’t follow the doctrine they preach and criticize others for “human falilings”. Personally, I think Clinton should have resigned … that siad he never held himself up as a moral standard while secretly defying the moral standards he publically preached.

Nah, I am not chuckling at you, HH, (and I read your every word), just the situation.

And I voted for Reagan, so there ya go.

Step One: get caught
step Two: enter rehab for a previously undisclosed addiction problem
step Three: admit that you were abused as a child

yep…that oughta do it, he will be fine
