Ro, if you get started on that, I will have to begin posting in Haiku.

let er rip,… often the restriction of form produces unexpected outcomes,.

turkey bacon, eggs
breakfast calls with smoke and smells
things arent what they were

Thedad, I know that. I was only saying there must be evidence or someone’s a fool and could get into legal trouble. btw - the evidence must be admissible, right mini?
Otherwise, let 'er rip.

interesting that some people demand proof for THIS, while people can be thrwon in jail forever with no proof

wow

btw, it is now being reported that there is something there, that the good reverend admits to SOME wrongdoing

i don’t care if he had a gay affair, its his business, but in his PUBLIC life, and with his power, he calls gays abhorent and did all he could to get that message out, and now…

“I thought the Democrats believed a man’s private life was supposed to remain private (a la Clinton). Only when it suits their purposes, I guess.”

The man’s private life isn’t private anymore, is it? And I can saywith complete certainty that I didn’t “out” Rudy, or cause the court order that barred him from seeing his own daughter in the company of the “other woman”, and I had no role in Newt’s sick affairs while his wives suffered from cancer and MS.

I do think, however, that, if he needs to, Haggard should be allowed to divorce his wife and marry the guy.

mini, you are frequently delightful.
(even when you hit below the bible belt)

it is his private life, see I said that, but his public “job” of demeaning gays, doing all he could to take away protections, etc, well, if you can’t see the hypcoracy and the use of his public personna just to get power and $$, while doing in private what he claims to hate

guess the Republicans think that so long as things are hidden, you can say and do anything you want

if men like Haggerd didn’t publically treat homosexuals the way they do, men like Haggerd wouldnt have to hide who he really was and could be a church leader as a gay man, but his wanting power and control was more important to him than the rights of others, and he used that attitdue toward gays to get more $$, more power and a bigger church

that to me is disgusting

if he is gay, he should have come out, and said see, you like me, and I am gay, you like my leadership of your church and I am gay…you as church going people shouldnt hate gays, becuas ethan you hate me…

that is what a true man of God would have done

Agreed. We’ll see what happens, but if, as Haggard reportedly claimed, he is faithful to his wife and never met this man before, it’s very unlikely he would have jumped ship so fast. At a minimum, there’s got to be some kind of evidence tying him to the other man.

He’s now admitted to “some of the allegations”.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15536263/

cgm, I agree that the hypocrisy is disturbing. It’s a sad story, all the way around.

Too bad, especially since his member congregations were heading up so much of the “get out the vote campaign” for the Party of Appeasement and Family Values.

Meth treatment - long row to hoe, but he can beat this thing.

<if he=“” is=“” gay,=“” should=“” have=“” come=“” out,=“” and=“” said=“” see,=“” you=“” like=“” me,=“” i=“” am=“” my=“” leadership=“” of=“” your=“” church=“” gay…you=“” as=“” a=“” going=“” people=“” shouldn’t=“” hate=“” gays,=“” becuas=“” ethan=“” me…=“” that=“” what=“” true=“” man=“” god=“” would=“” done=“”></if>

Who the heck are you to tell any human being what he or she “should” do?

How he conducts his life is his own business and it’s up to his congregation to decide how to handle it. And there you go again assuming that his “church going people” “hate gays.” Who are you to make that judgement call?

You witty posters can spend all day and night gleefully getting your jollies out of this situation. I feel sorry for the man’s wife and children because they don’t even get the chance to deal with this situation in private, but have to watch it played out in front of the whole world because of some Democrat agenda.

Excuse me, but it is only being played out in public because of the REPUBLICAN agenda, the gay marriage initiative REPUBLICANS put on the ballot, the systematic suppport of the REPUBLICAN agenda and REPUBLICAN candidates by the National Association of Evangelicals, the lobbying of the REPUBLICAN President and Congress for REPUBLICAN “family values” Supreme Court justices by REPUBLICAN Haggert himself.

If he were just a preacher it would hardly be news. The morally bankrupt Party of Appeasement and Family Values made it a public issue.

Guess we’ll find out if that gay conversion stuff really works. ;)

Yeah, BOTH sides have agendas for sure (except the gay side-we’re not allowed to use the term “gay agenda” on this board). Trouble for me is that the DEM side has played sickeningly dirty this election cycle (Foley, Michael J. Fox, and now this). And as with the Foley discussion on this board, I find the jokes disgusting. These are human beings with human failings, and, unlike some people on this board who profess to believe in privacy(but are quick to go against that “principle” when it benefits their side), I believe in all cases these sexual peccadillo situations should be handled privately. In this case the man is not even in the political arena.
Bleh.

This man is in the CENTER of the political arena, and he put himself there.

<a href=“Haggard admits meth buy – The Denver Post”>Haggard admits meth buy – The Denver Post;

I sincerely doubt the “good reverend” (as cgm so nicely referred to him) does not spend EACH AND EVERY MINUTE of his day, and every minute in every sermon on the pulpit, preaching the evils of homosexuality as the gay a****a (now allowed to speak the phrase), and their true believers on this board, would have the public believe. He is at no center of any political arena; that is pure agenda-driven bs.

Trouble for me is that the DEM side has played sickeningly dirty this election cycle (Foley, Michael J. Fox, and now this).

The DEM’s played dirty?!!!
