Any advice for me?

Hi everyone,

I’m a homeschooled junior from northern Virginia who will be applying to UVa next fall, and I was wondering if anybody here had any pointers to give me. I know that only about a quarter of homeschoolers who apply are offered admission, but I’m in love with UVa’s academic quality and atmosphere, so I’m doing everything I can think of to improve my chances.

Here’s what I’m doing/have done so far:

[ *] SAT I (by section): In the mid-700s for each section on practice tests.
[ *] SAT IIs: Planning on doing Biology M, US History, Chemistry, Math I, probably others in the fall.
[ *] ACT: N/A
[ *] APs: In lieu of AP courses, I’m doing the following courses at a community college: Biology 101, English 111 honors, Chemistry 101, U.S. History 121 (should I be doing 122 as well?), Sociology 201, Calculus, Physics 101.
[ *] IBs: N/A
[ *] GPA, Weighted and Unweighted: 4.0 unweighted, I have no idea how to weight a GPA.
[ *] Rank: Well, I’m at the top of my community college classes, but I don’t know if that counts for anything.
[ *] ECs: United States Pony Club (as an upper level member I do a LOT of teaching, work as a camp counselor, volunteer work, and competing at a national level), volunteer routinely at horse trials in many capacities (ring steward, jump judge, etc.), fencing (competitive but not yet rated), 4H (I did it as a freshman and sophomore and held positions as treasurer and teen leader), and am planning to volunteer for the Red Cross and join the Honor Society for students of 2 year colleges.
[ *] Job/Work Experience: In charge of thoroughbreds at small farm, pet/housesitting.

Any pointers/critiques/speculations about my chances would be great!

Thanks!
