any chance of gettiing in?

<p>hi
i am in my senior year…
till now i have got mostly As and a few Bs only by a mark or so…
i got a 2040(730 M, 700W and 610 R) in sat I and a 770 in sat II bio… planing on taking the math and chem sat II in october.
i have over 2 yrs of social service and some leadership positions…
i have done 3 aps and got a 5 in bio and english lit and a 4 in eng lang
what are the chances that i can get into brown, university of michigan, john hopkins, chicago and other ivies with financial aid or scholarship?</p>

<p>senior from where? You are in the international forum. And are you requesting financial aid?</p>

<p>well im a senior from india and i AM requesting financial aid…</p>

<p>Can you list your ECs in detail?</p>

<p>Where are you from, btw?</p>

<p>Your stats are a little low for those schools. You should definitely consider less selective/competitive universities/colleges. Focus on private universities, because FA from public schools is next to impossible for International students.</p>

<p>IMO, it’s a whole different league for indians+chinese from china and the rest!</p>

<p>well… i know the chances of getting into hopkins and brown are low… but what abt michigan??
can u guys suggest any good universities (liberal arts unis included) that offer a good biology programme with FA as well?</p>

<p>University of Michigan = No FA for Intls.</p>

<p>well…
to be more specific…
im in the top 5% of my class
in my previous school (10th grade and below)i had many leadership positions like house vice captain, head and member of many clubs like quiz, nature, interact, iayp etc
in my present school (for grade 11th-12th) i am still a member of many of these clubs. i have done and am doing loads of community service almost more than once a week
i got a 93.3% aggregate in my ICSE 2007(10th grade exams)
i have managed to get straight As throughout with 2 or 3 Bs
taken part in many olympiads. got distinction in english maths and science in the new south wales one.
for sports, i was on the inter house teams for throwball and basketball.
also good at badminton.
on the whole… just wanted ur opinioin as to which colleges can i get ino with some kind of aid… scholarship and loans would also do.
i plan on majoring in biology- something in mmicrobiology or genetics.</p>

<p>Again, your SAT scores aren’t high enough for the Ivy Leagues (and that includes Brown) or JHU.</p>

<p>University of Michigan is a possibility – but as ajayc pointed out, it does not award financial aid(and that includes scholarships and loans) to International students, as don’t most public universities. </p>

<p>You should look at less selective private schools. There are many. Check out [Test</a> Prep: GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, SAT, ACT, and More | The Princeton Review](<a href=“http://www.princetonreview.com%5DTest”>http://www.princetonreview.com) and use their automatic search engine based on your scores, grades and needs. </p>

<p>Good luck.</p>

<p>well i did use that link and there were many universities…
so im kind of confused right now…
i plan on majoring in biology and/or something micro biology related.
so from what i have heard… liberal arts seems as one of the best options…
i have looked at reed, oberlin and grinell… but cant make up my mind about the others…
so can u guys help me out with my list???
suggest any colleges that you think i would have a good chance of getting into with aid and with that major.
thanks :)</p>

<p>anyone???</p>

<p>Reed, Oberlin and Grinnell.</p>

<p>Similar schools include Wesleyan, Brown, Carleton and Macalester. I have no idea how the intl fin aid situation is though, sorry!</p>

<p>Middlebury -> need-blind
that means it grants financial aid regardless of nationality.
other schools include Amherst and Williams, but they are the most competitive.</p>

<p>well from what i have heard, amherst offers almost no aid to internationals…
do UCs give aid to internationals?</p>

<p>correction, amherst does offer…dont forget the head grl from ure school ;)</p>

<p>nope UCs give absolutely no aid. Try duke, and try carleton. they’re a bit more generous. and try canada- they’re good with aid. and australia.</p>

<p>oh try rice. i know aguy who got a 40% from bbay</p>
