Is anyone aware of any colleges offering admission tours over the Holiday break (approximately December 20, 2024 to January 10, 2025)?
It may be too much to hope for, but a guy can ask!

I doubt it since students give the tours.
One of the schools my daughter got into seems to have a self-guided tour. The school’s less than two hours from us (she wasn’t overly interested until she got in-she applied because she had five free SUNY spots-otherwise we would have visited already).
If she likes what she sees, she’ll go up for an admitted students day.
I remember some schools offering that during COVID. My H anc daughter drove to SUNY BING and then flew to Clemson in April of 2021 because decisions needed to be made in spite of no formal tours.
I spent about an hour looking.
Nothing much in December, but the following schools had availability in the Jan 2 to 10 timeframe:
Carleton
St Olaf
Vanderbilt
Gonzaga
Trinity U.
Unlikely but check the website of schools you are interested in touring – you never know.
If the school is close to you it can be fun just walking around and getting the jist of the school. Most are kinda dead at this time. But finding the favorite pizza place is fun. We walked many schools even during the tours. After you do a few they’re kinda all the same. Getting the feel for the students there and feel of the school to me is more important. Sometimes you find out quickly the school is too large /small. Maybe you find your peeps or not kinda thing.
UMass Amherst has tours right after New Years as well.
Middlebury and Colby start again on 1/7, Bates and Carleton on 1/10. Union 1/2.
You might look at schools with Jan Plans/short terms – that schedule tends to bring folks back to campus a little earlier than others.
But it’s easiest if you start with YOUR list - hard to know if these are of interest to you.
Yes, of course. I asked the general question so that others could benefit from the answers.
Many schools have self guided tours you can find on their website. We did a few of those when we were looking. Most tours are the same at every school as far as the spiel they give (after touring 25+ schools). At least you can see the campus in person and the town. Maybe talk to people on campus if you see any during the break.
At one point we were visiting a small university over break, at a time when tours were not offered. We asked politely if we could get a tour anyway. They said “okay”.
The head of admissions gave us a personal tour. Our daughter ended up going there, and doing very well.
You can ask. They might say no. If you ask, then be polite.
That is a great story. Good things come when people are flexible.
If you want to check out Maine, Bates and Colby will be open - not sure about Bowdoin. Bates classes start up again on January 8 but students are there beginning January 6. Even if there are no tours, you can walk into the buildings, eat at the Den, go to the bookstore, etc. There is no snow in Maine right now (or very little in the south), so a good time to drive around. It will be in the 20-30 degree range next week though!!
