Hi, I’m a student currently in 11th grade. I aspire to major in the fields of Business Management / Economics for my under graduation.
Due to this, and because I love the subjects I study, I chose to take commerce for my 11th standard. I wanted to know if this will be a disadvantage for me during college admission. And if so, should I switch to Science?
Also, I have no problems in taking the SAT II’s in Physics and Maths, since they’re basically 10th grade topics.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
TIA
In case it matters, I took commerce not because of my grades in tenth, but only because I like what I’m studying here. Hope Adcoms won’t get a wrong impression if I have taken commerce.
I’d suggest taking biology subject test as it’ll be easier to study and score well. Physics is a lot about theories and concepts and the topics asked about are class 11 and 12 syllabus.
Otherwise, ask your counselor(if your school has one) if it’ll be a problem. I don’t think it should be because you’re doing what you like and I’ve seen many of my friends doing the same thing. Just maintain good grades and good ECs, focused around your major. You won’t have any problem.
Best of luck!
