Massmom, that is so clever and cute!
KET (Kentucky Educational Television) had this in their e-mail blast this morning:
Start your April off right! âDowntonâ premieres Sunday
The eagerly anticipated season 8 premiere of âDownton Abbeyâ is Sunday â just in time for the beginning of April. Tune in for Maryâs shock upon the surprise return of Matthew and everyoneâs delight at her decision to be nice to Edith for once in her life.
And PBS has announced the popular series has been renewed for another 10 seasons! Be there when the Dowager Countess faces down Hitler, Rose becomes BFFs with Wallace Simpson, and all of Downton Abbey braces for Beatlemania.
Thereâs a cute one on my FB proclaiming that so-and-so (my friend) is the ânew voiceâ of car navigation systems, written like a press release.
My Dâs birthday is today. Last night after she went to bed her bf changed all the clocks in the apartment, including her cell phone⊠Then this morning he woke her up in a panic saying they slept through their alarms. She thought it was MUCH later than it was and she was late for work. After a few minutes of her rushing around he started laughing and she figured it out.
And this from Virginia Commonwealth University:

Did anyone else see the Donald trump ad? He talks of running as a joke, and he canât believe heâs still in the running. But really, folks, vote for Hilary. Then the banner comes on at the bottom, April Fools Day.
This one about Stanford: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/30/opinion/college-admissions-shocker.html?_r=1
From the U of MN â maybe Bucky Badger should apply?
NYT said they were going to end the crossword
George Mason School of Law changing their name to Antonin Scalia School of Law, or ASSLAW. Oh wait, no theyâre actually serious.
As an aside, I can actually see how such renaming could increase applications from law school applicants from certain political and social demographicsâŠ
Nothing so far about JHU u getting rid of the âsâ in âJohnsâ?
The Washington Post has a pretty good list of April Fools Day pranks out on the Internet so far:
All very funny. Really hoping the âKrispy Kreme will now let you 3D print a doughnutâ one was true. I mean, câmon, you know thereâs a market for that⊠![]()
A friend who is a recent PhD graduate in IR was depicted by another friend in a press release-like post that she has been hired by a committee working to revive the Holy Roman Empire to the point it can initiate hostile takeovers of Europe and the rest of the world including North America.
Itâs not the greatest of April Foolâs Day pranks, but my son pulled a prank on FB that I got a big kick out of. Heâs quite popular on FB so whatever he posts gets immediate attention of over 700 FB friends from across the country. Because of the April Foolâs Day also coinciding with college admissions announcements, he posted âI CANâT BELIEVE THIS! IT IS WITH GREAT HONOR TO ANNOUNCE THAT I HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN ACCEPTED TOâŠ
TRUMP UNIVERSITY! WOOOOOOOOO YEAHHHHHHHHHâ
He intentionally made enough space before the last line for the suspense and the anti-climax. With all high school kids anticipating their friendsâ college admissions result posts on FB, it really was effective. Donât know about you folks, but that made me rolling in laughter!
