Any ideas for a Valentines' gift to send to college student?

I’m looking for an idea for a male, and I thought something edible would be good. And I’m always looking for a good value. My default, which is probably the best idea, would be some homemade goodies.

I started to check out chocolate covered strawberries at Shari’s Berries, but I didn’t purchase because they don’t let you see the shipping cost until after entering recipient and credit card info. Didn’t feel like going through the process.

Any other ideas?

My S would go nuts over a cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory:
[The Cheesecake Factory - Cheesecakes](http://shop.thecheesecakefactory.com/order/category/cheesecakes.html#identifier=1360174204377)

Cheryl’s Cookies are super yummy - today is last day of 20% off and free shipping (according to the homepage - I didn’t go as far as to read any details)

Also a favorite for my kids and good past luck with the ordering/shipping process:
Fairytale Brownies [Fairytale Brownies, Gourmet Belgian Chocolate Brownies](http://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■/)

Sugardaddy’s - delicious! To save $$$ I’ve ordered the “Pocket Change” items:
[SUGARDADDY’S: Best Brownies and Blondies, Best Gifts, Corporate Gifts, Birthday Gifts, Thank Yous, Favors](http://www.sugardaddys.com/)

Those are my top, past selections. :)

My son really liked the pears I sent him from Harry and David. EVERYTHING from H&D is great~

Whole Foods has some Republic of Tea tea bags that are valentines themed, like chocolate strawberry, and a few others.

Wow, these look good! Thanks

I always send my kids EthelM chocolates.

[Ethel M Chocolates Traditional Premium Gourmet Chocolate Candy](http://www.ethelm.com)

My son can personally vouch for the caramelitas from this online store:

Are you a member of Sam’s Club or Costco? They ship and could deliver some dorm room food.

Check to see if there are any small cupcake shops or bakeries in his college town that deliver. Last year I sent S2 ‘cake pops’ from a bakery that’s actually run by students at his university.

I’ll also vouch for the cookies from Cheryl’s mentioned in post #2. I’ve sent them to a couple of college kids and they all give them the thumbs up.

My daughter is getting the cookies and milk package from this site:

[College Care Packages | $.99 Shipping on Valentine’s Day Packages! | Healthy Choices care packages | Gift baskets for college students with awesome food and beverages - From Mom](<a href=“from-mom.com - This website is for sale! - from mom Resources and Information.”>http://www.from-mom.com/)

Depending on where they are – gift cards for Chipotle, Starbucks, Whole Foods, etc - pretty much anyplace they like where they might not often treat themselves. My daughter loves getting CVS gift cards because she can spend it on ‘necessaries,’ cosmetics, lots of things-

and adding –
if he loves your homemade baking, you probably wouldn’t spend much more shipping your own delicious stuff overnight than you would paying for mailorder food (depending on what you had in mind)

Just sent girl scout cookies and a $5 DVD from Target. Also saw fun lights at Target useful for a dorm room.

Here’s an idea that is economical, clutter-free, and lazy… but probably much appreciated … a lovely card plus cash or a giftcard.

I ended up getting a Cheryl’s Cookies gift box of Valentine treats. The free shipping and discount drew me in; thanks for alerting me about this.

I noticed one or two of the other places required a signature for delivery, which wouldn’t work in this case. Oddly, Cheesecake Factory did not require a signature.

Gift cards and treats from local places are also good ideas to use in the future. There is a grocery/deli/produce place nearby that delivers, and I think they will make up food baskets for gifts.

Thanks again for all the ideas!

Cheryl’s Cookies - especially the frosted ones are truly delicious. Like a super good homemade, soft sugar cookie with luscious frosting!

I’m hungry for one RIGHT now!!! :)

You can also help out a good cause by ordering from Login | Misericordia.

Here are two from my state [The Mackinac Fudge Shop](The Mackinac Fudge Shop) LOVE13 for free shipping over$30. Sent fudge and turtles to D and she said they were excellent .

These are a favorite in our family [Cherry Republic - Life, Liberty, Beaches, and Pie - Northern Michigan’s Best Place for All Things Cherry](http://www.cherryrepublic.com/) It looks like its $7 to ship a present. Everything is boxed up really nice and I might have tried everything here lol and have liked everything. I usually send the cookies to my S, he likes the snickerdoodles but I love the dark chocolate boomchuncka’s.

Just ordered 3 of the Cheryl’s $14.99 specials:
