and this is in India…where there are 6 children born every minute.</p>
<p>Birth rate=number of live births per 1000 people. So, your title implies that there are 99 live births per 1000 Parsis.</p>

what i meant was that there are a total of 99 children born in the entire year for 70000 parsis(and not per 1000 people)</p>

<p>exactly…that’s why the there’s no real increase in population its stayed at around 68000-70000 for the past 10-12 years</p>

<p>Well, if the population stayed constant it means that about as many people were born (or moved into the community) as people died (or moved out of the community) which is technically a good thing! Except that it will probably throw off the “ideal” age distribution a few decades down the road…</p>
<p>Which is exactly what happened with the Parsi Community.</p>
