Does anyone know any quotes from books about dedication despite difficulty? Thanks!

Have you read the Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro? Its about a Butler living in England post World War I in the last years of the “Great Houses” era - his entire life is dedicated to his job, despite many events in his life which tested his emotional fiber and psychological stability.

Its an excellent book.
Its also terribly sad.

I suspect the poster is looking for something for a lead sentence for a Common App essay…

Oh. That makes sense. I thought OP was just looking for something to lift their spirits. I can’t provide quotes for TROTD because virtually all of it is very specific first person narrative with the mention of names/places/etc - not the type of thing you’d necessarily open a College Essay with.

“I will kill every last Titan on Earth.”
