Well it snowed here in the Midwest yesterday - adding a bit to the tiny melt off of our still deep snow but on my walk yesterday the birds didn’t know it still seemed like winter - all the lovely spring sounds. Red wing black birds returned and the geese and whooping cranes were passing overhead. Today while walking - not a bird to be heard as we trudged through the -16 degree windchill. A passing policeman stopped his car to tell us we were very dedicated. No, I think very crazy. I’m still warming up my toes. Looks like no warmer weather here until April. Not a bulb or bud in sight!

The Osprey have returned! Here that is always a sure sign of spring! Also have daffodils coming up, I’m in Mid Atlantic…

Almost four inches of snow yesterday in South Central Wisconsin. Really cold today, 16 degrees, and windy.

Not here quite yet, but just got home from a long weekend where spring, and my allergies had definitely sprung!

The students are away for Spring Break, the days are getting longer, the calendar says the vernal equinox is right around the corner, and March Madness starts today, so Spring must be coming. But those are the only “signs of Spring” I can identify. So far the weather is pretty much indistinguishable from winter, and when I look out my window I see nothing but snow-covered ground and gray, bare trees–not the faintest hint of green.

It’s a bit on the cool side today (high 60’s) in So. Calif. Sorry- I couldn’t resist. Our D is at school in PA and when I told her it was kind of cold yesterday, she groaned. Supposed to be back up in the 70’s later this week. My Maple tree has leaves so I know it is spring. Also lots of birds nesting in our hedge. Can’t say we have had much cold weather this year, and I really do miss that, as well as rain! I walk the dogs at around 8 each night and don’t even take a sweater. Fortunately for us, it doesn’t get very hot here either, as we are right on the coast.

takeitallin - we’re neighbors - and my daughter is in school in PA too
I can tell spring is coming because it was foggy this morning.

Hi PhotoOp- we do have great weather don’t we, but a little rain would be nice occasionally!

Rain? What’s that? :)

Why did they always make us sing “April showers bring May flowers?” This year the showers two weeks ago brought some March flowers (and requisite allergies) and they’ll be all dried up and dead by May. But our garden hoses will bring in some May flowers - for sure!

(SB County BTW, takeitallin.)

Lake effect snow warning for the next 48 hrs. here in upstate NY. Oh joy! Last year we had a freakish week of 70’s around St. Patrick’s day. I would much prefer that!

Well, airfares have gotten pricey again due to Spring Break. Otherwise, sorry, we have spring 24/7/365–paradise & all that. It dropped to low 60s though. ;)

Ugh! Another 5 inches of heavy wet snow last night north of NYC. Heavy, wet, hard to lift stuff. Zero signs of spring. Don’t even hear the birds. They seem discouraged, too. :(

Some daffodils in bloom , but not mine yet. I hear the spring peepers and red wing blackbirds chirping…and my seasonal allergies seem to be kicking in. But it’s still not warming up :(

Ventura County PhotoOp- right next door.

10 to 15 inches of snow here!

I saw robins last week.
And then we got new snow. And now it is so cold that the elementary school kids had indoor recess today. I wonder where the robins are now…

Those dan mallards have once again decided to nest in my yard. It’s gross enough to have two ducks happily cra*ing in your pool day and night, but under federal migratory waterfowl rules(yeah, like they actually migrate!) we can’t disturb a nest with eggs.
So, every morning I have to chase (very bold) ducks out of my pool and shrubs quick before they lay eggs.
Ducks are not my friends this spring,…

Our cold-hating chihuahua didn’t sleep buried under her blanket last night…spring and warm weather have arrived in Florida!

Lol in florida it was 87 yesterday.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

13 degrees here this AM…
