Any Survivor Watchers?

Besides annoying we can add entitled to Liz. This is a competition. Have you done anything for Q or indicated you are open to working with him? At least he was trying to rebuild ties with his former teammates.

I don’t disagree with the above but I have to admit it was a pretty cold moment by Q - confirmed by his interviews he’s pretty cold hearted IMO.

I feel there isn’t a lot of love lost on this season. Besides Maria and Charlie and maybe Ben for Charlie and vice versa, it’s a pretty heartless crew in a different way than we’ve seen in awhile.

If there is nothing you can eat, do not go on Survivor.
If you cannot make fire or swim, do not go on Survivor.
If you cannot drive a stick or read a map, do not go on The Amazing Race.

I think Liz was wayyyy out of line. She knew going into Survivor what her options were for food etc. Everyone not picked was probably hungry… just because she shilled for Applebys does not mean, by default, she should get the reward??? If you want the reward win the challenge.

I mean, easier said than done!

I’m not saying she was justified to be given it…but as a compassionate human being it was tough to watch - and at one point Q says words that indicate that maybe he’s going to choose her…but there there was a ā€œbutā€¦ā€

Yeah, I don’t know what she was thinking with all her food allergies. And I still stand behind that Q is pretty ruthless. You can be a great player, competitor and still have some empathy somewhere in the game - not seeing it from him.

I understand what you are saying about compassion. But, what if every contestant had a melt-down when not picked? Then it would be a ā€œwho could cry, complainā€ the loudest. I guess what bothered me is she felt entitled to be on the reward… because of her ā€œstory about she and her daughter,ā€ her food allergies etc. And then proceeds to have a screaming tantrum…

I’m not defending Q, since I’d have voted him out, but these rewards are not a surprise. Pick one player to join you. Pick another. Etc.

The winner should choose based upon how each player aligns with their game strategy. It seems to me, that is what Q did. There was no upside for Q to choose Liz.

Also not wrong.

I guess if I’m honest I’m just not liking Q as a human being throughout the season! I gave him a chance early on but I’m def off the train!

Venus, Liz and Q are seen as non threats.
Maria and Charlie are now the masterminds and the others know it.
Not sure where Ben stands
Kenzie might be mad that she was left out of the vote and Maria got credit for the blindside. If Kenzie starts working with Liz and Venus, they could bring in Ben and target Maria or Charlie.

I wonder how much production inducement there was for all the raving about Applebee’s? Wonder if that was an angle that Liz took to get on the show in the first place (Applebee’s has been a sponsor for several seasons already). C’mon, who eats at Applebee’s every week? You’d think you’d mix it up with Olive Garden, Chili’s and Outback.

Are you new to reality TV?

She went weekly with her daughter for some mother-daughter time. Her daughter’s 8. When I was 8, if given the choice, I absolutely would pick the same restaurant weekly. And order the exact same thing. Thankfully, I’ve expanded my horizons since.

That said, it was a bit crappy on production’s part to choose the exact menu choice from the extensive menu to be part of the reward.

Only if they give you a balloon (see TGIF).

I think Tiff said that Maria and Kenzie offered to let Liz have their spots for the reward and Q was not having it. I think I would have felt more for Liz if she didn’t have that tantrum!

I’m Team Venus because I loathe everyone else this season and I just kind of enjoy her aggressiveness. I like that she hasn’t had her confidence dented.

I said the first episode, how do you cast somebody with those allergies. Not only can’t she eat anything, but the chance of her accidentally getting something she can eat contaminated with something she is allergic to seems pretty high.

I think Q could have won some points with the other players had he picked Liz. He would have possibly been viewed as more likeable for the move. Now, he is so unlikeable, he will be the most desirable to sit with at the final tribal. Nobody is going to vote him off at this point, because he can’t win.

Random thoughts.

I don’t know how Venus survives each week, but somehow, she does. The show is making her very unappealing to me. She thinks she’s in control of everything, but she’s not.

I don’t know how Liz recovered from what seemingly was a complete breakdown or maybe a severe temper tantrum. Wow. And the family and I were in complete agreement on Liz and her allergies. How do you go on the show with them with the limited food sources that are available there?

I love how Charlie saw that ā€œgripā€ was important in Survivor challenges and worked on it with dead hangs. Good for him. It is interesting to me that he’s won back-to-back challenges and he’s not been talked about as a target yet.

I actually have sympathy towards Q, not sure why, but I do. He seems honorable or at least he’s faking it really well. :grinning:

I think Venus has survived because Liz is there - it’s sort of a ā€œpick your poisonā€ situation. LOL. It does seem that Venus in the edit has started to take a back seat…which makes me wonder if she will slide into top 5.

At the risk of sounding sexist, I think what turns me off about Q is he seems like that alpha male - he makes the decisions, he only sees his way as the right way, he can take you along or drop you along the way, he’s in charge. I suspect he is a product of how he was raised.

I don’t want to post details because they might be somewhat spoilerish. Tiff’s interviews lend some insight into who was getting along with each other and who wasn’t. She mentions who was willing to turn on who.

Again voted off with an idol in their pocket. Not sure why people still consider Q a threat, nobody will give him the million. Also, disappointed in Maria not choosing Liz to have pizza.

Rock, paper, scissors is the lamest strategy since Greg said, ā€œPick a number between one and tenā€ all the way back in season 1.
