…besides me?

I applied!!! I love Occidental…I’m really worried about getting in, but who knows, maybe the admissions gods will give me a break!

Where are you from? I’m from Colorado and I heard that Occidental was relatively unknown outsides of the LA area, but I hear a lot of things…

Okay, another stupid question, why’d you apply? I applied because of the whole UN internship and then slowly fell in love with the rest of the school. It’s quite funny, because before Occidental I was convinced I wanted to go to a big state school or something, but then BAM! LAC! ^^

I’m from So. Cal and I love Oxy too! I applied because they had the exact…and i mean THE EXACT major that I want to pursue and couldn’t find anywhere else: Urban and Environmental Policy, the UN internship is also a factor but I love Oxy’s somewhat offbeat-daring-quirky personality so yeah.

Wow, at last I meet somebody else who loves Oxy Let’s just cross our fingers and hope that we both get in!

I got in, but I dont know if i can afford it.

I applied, and I’m from the midwest! I think I’m the only person applying from my small town in the great plains haha. It seems like a friendly school, and that’s my number one criteria: friendliness of students/teachers!

i applied too, the price is a huge factor for me but i hope that things will work out since i’ve been applying for some scholarships

My daughter applied. We’re from Kentucky.

Well, I guess my comment about it being mainly cali people is shot, but that’s a good thing. Anyway, anyone willing to post their stats up? I guess I should wait until we all get accepted or whatever. When do results come back?

i’m applying as a transfer, doing the application now. i really liked oxy when i visited. i live about 10 minutes away so it’s really close. my parents aren’t completely supportive due to the expenses of the school, but i’m waiting to see if i’m even accepted. i really hope i get in though…

Whe D visited schools in socal last year oxy made her final cut. Came through with almost $20,000 / yr scholarship but still was not enough to offset offers from other schools accepted at. Good luck to all who applied and hope the finaid is beneficial.

My D applied. We are from S. Fla., but have family in LA. She mainly applied because of the UN program, but is interested in going to a small LAC.

I applied and I am from LA [20 minutes from Oxy] It’s really nice there!

I applied, the school is beautiful. I can’t wai to hear back…anybody know the exact date they send out acceptance letters?

i think by april 1st (gasp…day b4 my b-day), do u think that they’ll accept more guys this year than girls?

violetstarlight,

i applied as a transfer for spring semester 2007 and was accepted. although i did receive a merit scholarship, my parents were also far from supportive after calculating how expensive tuition is in comparison to my current university (univ. of WA). i ended up staying at UW but i always debate whether my decision (or i guess my parents’ decision) was the right one. good luck with your application!

my d applied-what is the UN program?

Here is the link for the UN program: http://www.oxy.edu/x6856.xml

My D would absolutely love this opportunity…but first we have to see if she gets accepted to Oxy!
