Anybody else loving The Crown?

I binge watched a few weeks ago. Looking forward to the nest season.

I thought it was fabulous. I had no idea that they were going to recast for each season to portray older versions of HM & family.

My wife and I watched the first two episodes, and were sort of “eh” on it. We enjoyed them, but it’s been several weeks and no one has said, “Hey, let’s watch more of The Crown.” In contrast to Good Girls Revolt – another historical drama of recent history with no actual suspense – which was completely engaging.

I did enjoy a fluffy recent movie that could serve as sort of a prequel to The Crown: A Royal Night Out. With lots and lots of artistic license, it’s based on the factual event that Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret were allowed to go out incognito, but with escort, to join the people celebrating all over London the night of V-E Day. Canadian actress Sarah Gadon has a nice take on the teenaged “Lillibet,” and Bel Powely is a ditzy Margaret.

@JHS, You might want to try getting into The Crown again. I started off watching it gradually but by the time I got further into it, I was really hooked. We watched the last 4 in a row, had to see how it all played out.

I got the free month of Netflix to watch Gilmore Girls and ended up also watching The Crown in about three days. Beautiful sets and costumes. It was interesting to catch glimpses of Dr. Who #11 in Prince Philip. I’m not all that into that era of British history (prefer earlier epochs) but had a lot of fun reading TV message thread posts from people who are not only into it, but participated in it. They have the inside scoops!
