Just curious if anyone’s heard of / applying to Yamanashi Gakuin University’s international college of liberal arts.

I’m considering applying for this because they are offering full scholarship for 20 international students ( there are only 80 students in total).
However, it is not a very outstanding college in Japan (in terms of academic performance), with a standard score about nearly 50. For University of Tokyo it is 70 something.
Anyway I’m attending their seminar tomorrow. I think it is always good to study abroad.

Wow didn’t expect to find someone truth be told 
I guess that reputation was given to Yamanashi without the iCLA, since it hasn’t even started yet properly. I have high hopes for this department and think in a couple of years, once enough people find out about it, it will become one of the more competitive places in Japan for foreign students. It will most likely boost Yamanashi’s reputation significantly, because a college without an English-taught program will not be considered very good.
Anyways, I really dig their curriculum and the people seemed really nice. I interviewed the person responsible for the international affairs, the dean, physics and math prof and music technology prof. They seemed cool unlike many other places I looked into. Plus the colleges where they offer study abroad programs were really good, especially the European ones.

Sorry dude totally forgot to reply. I’ve got a few important exams to attend these days.
Though without much history and achievement for now,it seemed that iCLA was a new department with quite a lot of potential. I especially favour their objective to explore student’s potential.
Have been dealing with all the recommendation and application stuff all day. Didn’t know I have to mail documents to the US and Japan besides applying online until yesterday:(

However, the 2016 application information is not out yet so the waiting game I play…
I know it’s an old post but hopefully someone will see it. Is there anyone going to iCLA next semester?
