meh that’s all I feel like typing out.

question, did that come in through mail or via email? And yes, consider it to be a “likely” letter.

Awesome! and it came in the mail. Via email, I only received the login information for the application status.

From past CC threads, it sounds like it’s an event for strong URM applicants who will most likely be accepted.

Just agreeing with quantitize: strong URM candidates that are likely to be accepted are invited to it.

That sounds really great, reminds me a little of WashU’s Discovery Weekend. Anyone else invited?

What exactly is Vision 2009?

Congratulations! You’re a well-qualified applicant regardless of your URM status.

Thank you! and to answer theendusputrid’s question:

google vision weekend rice and you’ll see a Rice Thresher article on it.

Also, I’m thinking part of the reason I received this so quickly is because of my proximity to Houston.

I’ll be volunteering the Sunday at Vision. If you get invited, definitely try to attend.

oh, thanks.

It’s kind of annoying how students have to miss school on Monday and Tuesday to make vision weekend though.

yeah, just what I was thinking

acolombian, didn’t you go to WashU’s discovery weekend?
I feel like I remember talking to you about that.

Anyways, congrats on getting the invite to this program! It sounds great, hopefully more of us will be finding out about it soon!

Yes, I did go to WashU’s Discovery Weekend, that’s what this whole Vision weekend reminded me of, actually. And thank you, I hope more people find out about it soon too!

My friend who goes to Rice told me that its STRICTLY for URM applicants .

yea i got invited too, it seems nice i really want to go bc i need to visit Rice b4 i make a decision on college.

im a URM too!

the website says that those who are invited have a strong chance od being admitted.

does anyone know if students who are invited to this (RD) have good chances at scholarship money also?
