Anyone else who doesn't like John Green?

sometimes I feel like I’m the only one.

jimbosteve said this in some other thread :)

I applauded it on the bases of the truth signals it gave off. i haven’t read the books.

I think it’s just really irritating to see people you otherwise respect appreciating a book that does nothing for you.

haha, well that is a bit nice to hear

It’s not just that though. His books are so hopeless. I didn’t like The Fault in Our Stars either. And I suppose people could argue that it’s realistic, but what’s realistic is what you choose to acknowledge, because, technically, everything is real.

I’ve only read Looking For Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines. Both novels have basically the same theme, similar characters, although Looking For Alaska was one of my favorite books for a while. I haven’t read The Fault In Our Stars yet, but I hear it’s really good.
