Anyone going to 10.30.10?

DS just started college not far from Washington DC. The Family Weekend is 10/29-31 and I am flying cross country and attending. His dorm House theme is The Daily Show/Colbert Report, and DS has informed me that he is planning on attending the March/Rally along with dormmates/friends. We are all long time fans of the shows.

Since he won’t be around all day saturday, I’m thinking I’ll just go down to DC myself also. I’m sure he won’t want mom tagging along so I’ll have to do it on my own.

Anyone planning on attending? Maybe we can have a CC contingent with our own banner and all :D

I would love to have gone, and was watching John Stewart and Colbert with D2, who lives in Boston, the night they announced it. She really wants to go! Too much other travel for me to make another trip. But it sounds like it would be an absolute blast!

I wish I could go… I hope a TON of people show up.

“I disagree with you, but I’m pretty sure you’re not Hitler.”

That was absolutely my favorite line ever!

I need to figure out a way to get that on my facebook!

I live right outside of DC and would love to go, but unfortunately have an out-of-town commitment that week so I won’t be home until late Saturday night. I’m trying to get DH to go but doubt he will on his own…

My d really wants to go, so we may attend.

Strongly considering skipping a national debate tournament to go. Well, not really, but part of me wants to.

Don’t let your signs touch, you know what happens when signs breed.

From the website:

Sounds like y’all ;)

I would also love to go but have committed to a baby shower. My kids and I are all big fans.

I REALLY wish I could go. I LOVE Stephen!

DH & I were hoping it would coincide with when we’d be in DC for DS’ parents weekend, but unfortunately it doesn’t. Haven’t asked DS yet if he plans to go.

Happykid has friends who are coming home from college just so they can go to this event.

I wish I could go, but I’m moving from northern VA to PA next week. Bad timing!

I might go.
If it’s not too cold. :o

Teriwitt, thanks for the FB shoutout!

DB I wish I could go with you. We could dress warm.

funny thing I planned a trip to dc from 10/27 through 10/30. The cost of changing the flight is now cost prohibitive. I book through Frontier, and a one way ticket was $75. Now, for Sunday Oct 31, it is over $600.

^^ I hadn’t yet booked a ticket for my parents weekend trip (through BWI) when the announcement was made. I was worried that the price would go through the roof, but when I did finally book it earlier this week, it was still reasonable. I expect it’ll get more expensive over next few weeks.

I hope that means turnout will be good!!

I got my ticket last week – the price was pretty good. I have several friends who live in DC, and we’re all going.

D2 and I are going! got tickets on Southwest for $49 each way a couple of days ago.

no matter how cold it gets, it will be warmer than the last time she and I were together on the Mall - January 20, 2009 ;)

Hey PRJ, DD (10 years old at the time) and I were there on that cold day too!!

Looks like tickets into BWI are still fine. Southwest doesn’t fly from my hometown :(. Got a 3 day car rental at BWI for $100!!
