Muscles are sore…aside from stretching what should I do? Budding scientists on this forum: surely you can offer insight?
Ancient remedies?

From working out? The natural remedy is to rest and it will eventually go off in a day or two. The body is very efficient in recognizing this, and the more you work-out, the less your muscles will be sore.

Thank you so much!!! I did NOT know that!

Do some stretches for about 15 minutes before you go bed at night. It REALLY helps. Whenever I’m sore from dance class or something, I do some stretching before going to sleep.

it depends, what’s sore?

Legs and lower back

for legs I usually just try to sleep but for lower back I either use an icy hot patch, a heating pad, or an ice pack

K I was thinking of that. Thank you beaucoup

or you could try doing press ups, thats what they told me to do in physical therapy

Not familiar with press ups?

I was pretty much 99% sure that you knew it. However, this type of question deserves no better of an answer. This is the natural way, and proven the best way to just rest. You have to endure the pain like almost every bodybuilder or person who lifts for the first time feels. It is a sign of victory that your workout works. Just deal with it.

Or use Icy-Hot patches.

Press ups are pushups. British language.

^^^ press ups are like push ups but you keep your hips down and they tell me to do like 3 sets of 15 so thats what I do when my lower back hurts

Aight you brits.

Ohh…I knew that ^^

oh also when they told me to ice my back in physical therapy they told me to elevate my legs, you could try that

Drink a lot of water.
