Added Wisconsin to our list late in the game, now it’s near the top of wish list. Missed the EA deadline. Anyone know the stats for OOS kids EA vs RD? Trying to decide if/when to make a trip. I’m worried about waiting until April to visit, but don’t want to fly across country (again) if she is a long shot. Ugh. Thanks!
Can’t find it anywhere There are a few summaries like this one and another on Reddit but neither breaks out EA
What was the case over the last year or two was -a high yield / over-enrollment issue so there was pressure on admissions which drove it down into the low 40s.
Makes sense, theyve gotten more selective. Sounds like even more apps this year. Wish they broke out acceptance rates by major/college and EA. I know they defer some oos kids (but not as many as Michigan, which seems to defer a ton).
Wait list numbers are ugly. 6000 offered, 4000 accepted, 11 got in.
Females at Wisconsin have a higher acceptance rate.
I’d hypothesize it might have to do with engineering/business, etc.
I personally think Hamilton Lugar is better but it’s a reasonable school for your daughter, vs Michigan.
They are 56% test submitters - but likely higher in engineering/business.
Good luck.
DD24 engineering major she gets in
Best of luck. But if not there’s lots of other great ones !!
This one is an interesting one as their website says over the last three years 28.7% of wait listed students were offered admission. I looked at the last three year CDS and saw super low numbers as you have shared. Where does the truth lie?
I believe it was really, really low in 2021 and 2022 and then in 2023 they made many more waitlist offers which brought the overall average over the last 3 years to appox 29%.
