I just heard the longest flood warning ever, for about 20 New England counties from Maine to Mass.

For those of you in dry states, it has rained for nearly 10 straight days, and it’s supposed to rain at least until Thurs. I feel sorry for people up here in beach house rentals. How many rounds of Parcheesi can you play?

My garden is lush–which is the only good part about the constant rain. I’ve heard that the rain will cease in MA tomorrow. D1 got married almost two weeks ago and it was one of three sunny days on the Cape and Islands. They got lucky. . .

Is it possible to have mold in one’s bones? I too am going CRAZY with this weather. My youngest is working on a whale watching boat this summer… they went out today… only 8 paying customers… I think they would have to HIT a whale to see one…

the sadness for me personally is that I should take advantage of this weather to clean inside but I am NOT doing that… why can I not rise to this opportunity? My excuse on good days has been the weather was too nice to stay inside… this really is ideal weather to clear out the attic or work on the basement… instead I am reading CC!!

Anyone remember that Ray Bradbury story set on Venus where it always rained except for one hour every few years, and the little girl who’d moved there from Earth and was made fun of by other kids who locked her in the closet and she missed the one hour of sunlight?

Oh, floods. After experiencing last summer’s Iowa floods and still holding a vague memory of the 1993 Iowa floods (I was only 5 then), I would never wish it upon anyone. Just makes everyone miserable.

Those of us in Texas will trade our triple-digit heat for your rain. Though, in the past two days, we’ve gotten more than 2 inches, so I’m happy for now.

Garland, that Ray Bradbury story is called “All Summer in a Day.” There is one hour of sun every seven years.

You poor people in NE! I’ve been complaining because it’s been overcast and gloomy around these parts for weeks (our June gloom), but 10 days of rain! Backyards turned into riverbeds? Wow.
