For those who have been on CC for years they may remember Michael Tubbs. He was a high schooler from Stockton Ca who came from a disadvantaged community who posted on CC. Carolyn who no longer posts mentored him and he went on to great things.
I was just looking through my June election guide and I see he is running for California Lieutenant Governor.

I do remember his story well. I hope he wins!!
And he was mayor of Stockton, and was the youngest mayor of a major city at the time.
He served one term as mayor from 2017 to 2021.

Wow! Went to Stanford for his BA and MA and has a very impressive resume. His wife’s bio is equally impressive. Way to go!

I know of him from his time as mayor of Stockton, but I never knew he was CCer!
His book, The Deeper The Roots, was published in 2022.
