Anyone see Bruce Springsteen?

Heard he just played " Dancing in the dark" and Eddie Vedder played Courtney Cox.
Please post pics.

Have tix for the 19th at MetLife stadium. Hoping for an epic show!

Three of my Ds and their significant others saw him in Toronto a few weeks ago. My H and I have seen him many times over the years but I had no interest in going this time, as the venue was too large - a 50,000 seat stadium. I preferred the days when his shows were in the arena here. No Eddie Vedder here, but he did pull a 10 year old girl out of the audience to sing “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day” with him. :)

They missed Patti Scialfa, we’re all big fans of hers. And, of course, Clarence, but his nephew Jake was apparently great.

I’ve seen him twice on this tour: opening night in Atlanta with D1 and the opening night at the Meadowlands with D2 (thanks Bruce for scheduling that during our already planned college tour!) Closest he’s coming on this leg is Louisville, but it’s not in the budget. And I won’t go see him in a stadium anymore; it loses something vs. an arena.

Pretty cool about Eddie Vedder.

We saw him in DC this year, and I have 2 excellent tickets for this Sep in NJ. The band stayed at the same hotel as us in DC. The morning after, we ran into Clarence’s nephew in the dining room. It didn’t dawn on us who he was until he walked by. He was very good. Looking forward to hear him play again.

Sort of–we heard music off in the distance over the weekend but didn’t find out until it was too late that it was Bruce in Concert in PA.

Eddie Vedder with Bruce??!!! swoons

I agree about seeing him in an arena v. a stadium. I’ll miss not seeing Clarence any longer. When my D was an incoming freshman at BC in 2008, Bruce and Patti were in my orientation group (S is Evan). That was a big thrill for me, and it was nice to see everyone giving them lots of space.

In the late 70s, when Springsteen first hit big, I never got a chance to go to a show and I’ve kicked myself ever since.

Fairly recently I’ve seen the Boss three times, including the tour where they did entire albums. The “Born to Run” show was one of the best concerts I have ever attended.

GO!

And, by the way, Bruce will be performing at the Washington Nationals baseball stadium later this month.

haven’t seen him this tour, but overall bunches of times, starting with several “Born to Run” shows at the Carlton Theater in Red Bank.

I just got the opportunity to buy tickets for the Meadowlands concert, but they were very pricey and I think I’ll have to skip. Sigh.

I adore the newest album.

Not trying to lord it over people, but I was fortunate enough to see Bruce back when he played theatres. Large theatres but not hockey rinks. My favorite was at Masonic Auditorium in Detroit. I had first row balcony seats, which I got because they announced the show during intermission of the Patti Smith show I was at. (Funny in a way because Patti ended up living in Detroit for years. This was when she was doing Horses. Great show but in that punk era she had to beg people not to throw bottles at the stage. Not kidding.)

Bruce’s show lasted for hours. He told stories. The best was about the boy with the gold guitar growing out of his stomach and how this character met a guy who opened the door to a Cadillac with seats so wide you could barely see across them, meaning Clarence. He came out during intermission and played songs from Asbury Park on the piano. With sheet music because he couldn’t remember how they went. He talked about how he hated the ending lyrics to Backstreets because he said it was wrong to be so dark, too juvenile. He climbed into the boxes on the side of the stage. He did another long story that morphed in and out of Not Fade Away. He loves performing.

I saw him at one arena show. At UMich Crisler Arena. Sorry but not the same. Funny thing was Bob Seger came on during the encore to do Thunder Road with the band … which they’d done already so it was weirdly anti-climactic to hear.

The only good stadium show I’ve ever seen was Elvis. But that was mostly because of the crowd’s astounding insanity. People were actually peeing in their pants from excitement.

Really? I think, if true, $98 for “best seats” for a top act in a hockey-sized arena is actually pretty cheap.

I have found that front-section seats for Stones, Who, etc. are usually in the $175 range. Mid-arena is around $100 and “VIP” packages go from around $300 to $600!

Saw him in VT in the late 70s. He was amazing. I had to leave early because I was working the night shift.

Saw him at college in the spring of '74 and then again in LA at the sports center in 1980. He certainly is great live. Showing my vintage, perhaps, but I prefer his earlier stuff.

My SIL saw Springsteen in last March. It was her 56th Springsteen concert! She is a Bruce maniac. She took MIL with her. MIL is 82 years old!!! MIL said she loved it and would go back again.

That’s a great story Packmom! I’m planning to keep attending rock concerts until they have to carry me out!

I saw the Born to Run show at the Olympic Stadium in Munich. Great show.

I saw him at Madison Square Garden in 1980. It was a total lark to get he tickets…at the very last minute, I sent a check in for the lottery drawing. What I surprise when I received 4 3rd row seats on the floor!! Truly one of the Best. Concerts. Ever.

I hear MSG is a great place to see a show, hope to do that some day!
:D

Lergnom–not lording it over me! SAw him in the local small venues several times (went to school with Miami Steve’s little brother.)
