How/when were you notified? Anyone receive a message that they could not be accomodated? Timing? We are waiting for a response for this Sunday night before DOTL April 15 and not sure if no news means no availability. Request was submitted 9 days ago, so I know its possible they don’t have the capacity, just would like to finalize plans one way or the other.

I stayed with a student through the Monroe Society for the March 25th DOTL. I requested around a month in advance and found out a week before I went.

It is student run, which is good and bad. 2 years ago, when my son arrived for his overnight stay, the student called him up and cancelled at the last minute. My son was extremely disappointed, and not looking forward to sharing a not-so-great hotel room with his Dad. Fortunately, we went to the admissions office and they found a student who was willing to have a 2nd guest sleep on their floor, and it worked out fine.

I attended Days on the Lawn yesterday and had applied to stay overnight with a student around 1-2 months ago. I think at the time it said I would get a response around 3 days before my visit, but unfortunately, unless I deleted it as junk email, I did not receive any confirmation or denial. Honestly, I wasn’t really feeling up to staying with a student yesterday, so I wasn’t too upset, but I would’ve liked to have at least known one way or another.

My daughter submitted the form requesting overnight about ten days ago and we still haven’t had any word from them one way or another.

The Monroe Society sounds like a communication planning and process redesign opportunity for an enterprising Comm student:-)

We will make other plans.

My daughter just came back from DOTL on April 8th and stayed with a person from the Monroe Society. She decided to do so at the last minute and got a reply immediately. Her experience was very positive. She stayed the night of the 8th (Monday night) though, not the night before DOTL. Maybe more people sign up for the night before. if you could work it out, I would highly recommend it. She was given the email and phone number of someone and she texted the girl, who replied within an hour. It was great!

Received a mass email today that they are sorry they cannot accommodate us due to high demand. Glad we already went with the backup plan!
