<p>We have been enjoying these shows since they started but haven’t met too many like-minded souls. Both are “police procedurals” with a “magic” twist. NBC produces Grimm and it will be syndicated by TNT (currently in season 4). Fox produces Sleepy Hollow, currently in its second season.</p>
<p>The shows seem to have a lot of fantasy and some interesting plot lines and over-arching storylines. They are the two shows H loves, so we watch them together. They are pretty much the only shows we watch.</p>
<p>We started watching Grimm when a friend’s son had a small role in an episode. I think the show is okay. I like Silas Weir Mitchell. The young actress, Jacqueline Toboni, who plays Trubel is appealing, and the story of how she got the role is pretty cool.</p>
<p>Yes, I am thrilled for her and she gets a significant amount of screen time. </p>
<p>We visited Portland and tried driving around some of the Grimm shooting sites because H likes the show so much and I’ve always liked OR, having graduated from UO. Who knows, we may vidit sleepy hollow ny and other sites next. </p>
<p>We’ve enjoyed Grimm from the beginning–can’t wait to see if/when Nick will get his powers back! We watched Sleepy Hollow for awhile but it became too convoluted for us and we lost interest.</p>
<p>I’ve always liked Grimm. Though when we switched around our DVR’s it erased a number of last season’s shows I hadn’t seen. Grrr!</p>
<p>Funny though. My son read many of the Grimm fairy tales to kids when he was a camp counselor. And he said there wasn’t a single one from the book that he had ever seen on the tv show. The actual stories that he saw on tv were completely unrelated.</p>
<p>I read Grimm when I was a kiddo–everything in the library. The point of the show is that many of these are “twisted” fairy tales. If you read the wiki, it tells you if it’s linked to any known fairy tale. </p>
<p>Yes, emphasis on the LOOSELY. It kind of talks about “the creatures within” some people and what inner creature some of the most notorious criminals would have been. It’s escapism, for sure and I feel much more interesting and creative than “reality” shows. The writers are always coming up with surprises–big and small to keep anticipation up. </p>
<p>I love Grimm. I have been struggling to still keep watching Sleepy Hollow. I have 5 or 6 episodes sitting on my TiVo. I have been watching Constantine this season, so that has replaced Sleepy Hollow. Any chance you are fans of the Arrow/Flash shows? </p>
<p>We watch Grimm here, we plan our Friday evenings around it. We don’t have DVR, so we have to watch it when it is on. S’16 likes it so much he asked his aunts to get him seasons 1 & 2 on DVD for Christmas last year.</p>
<p>I sometimes watch or re watch these shows on the respective network website. I am enjoying Constantine so far too, tho it is pretty bloody and quirky. </p>
<p>I’m a bit ambivalent at times about Sleepy Hollow but do like some of it better than others of the story lines. </p>
<p>Well, what did you think about the latest Grimm episode? It has finally re-started several of the threads, but I am not crazy about the Victor/Adeline subplot. What do you think?</p>
<p>Am sad that their isn’t a bigger viewership for both Grimm and Sleepy Hollow. Also Constantine doesn’t have as large an audience as I had hoped. It’s rather an unusual show, and follows Grimm. Not quite sure what I think of it but am concerned that it may likely be dropped due to low ratings. It does have lots of fire and special effects as well as unusual story lines.</p>
<p>RE Sleepy Hollow, lots of folks aren’t thrilled with Katrina and that she isn’t using powers for being an extremely powerful witch. It seems to have a lot of “monster of the week” episodes and doesn’t seem to move the big arc of the story forward, which folks are also criticizing.</p>
<p>I watch Grimm with my adult son who lives at home because he’s really into it. The Adeline stuff is the weakest part of the show. Whenever the plot shifts to something about “the royals,” I sigh. We were actually laughing about some of the over-the-top “trials of Adeline” recently.</p>
<p>Yea, Claire Coffee could be doing so much more and have a stronger role than being a manipulated dishrag. It’s just unappealing. They’ve also made Jukiette very unappealing and weak as well, which is sad because for a short while she was strong and an asset to the gang instead of a “let’s go back to before you were a Grimm,” ICK!</p>
<p>Well, what do folks think of the mid-season cliffhangers in the various shows–Grimm, Sleepy Hollow and Constantine? I think they’ve done a good job with Grim and Constantine but am not sure what they’re planning with Sleepy Hollow. I like that they’re making Juliette and Wu more interesting. Still love Monrosalee!</p>
<p>I did like quite a few of the cast in Sleepy Hollow but find the plot a bit tough to reliably enjoy. </p>
<p>These three shows are the mainstays in our house, so we will mostly take a break from TV until they resume in January.</p>
I was only mildly interested in Grimm, I wanted to like it more but I lost interest in the first season. I like Sleepy Hollow. I got ‘stuck’ and didn’t watch it after half a season, but had it on DVR and I just finished, plus the first episode of the next season. They did a pretty good job with multiple story lines and bringing them all together. I think Tom Mison is fabulous.
I like Grimm better now that Juliette is getting some power, not having Nick protect her all the time. Maybe one more hexenbiest is a good thing… if everyone is trying to kill you!
