It all started going downhill for me after Sandra Oh departed.
I thought I was the only Sandra Oh fan!!!
I love Sandra Oh, and I miss her character. I do not, however, miss Izzie.
Another big Sandra Oh fan here. And, of course, now there’s another big disaster/violent act of the year on Grey’s.
As for Scandal, I liked the first season best before B613 invaded, dealing more with the scandal of the week. It just got too violent and dark for me, although I’ve been watching anyhow (still have 3 or 4 episodes from this season to catch up on on my DVR).
Yes Sandra Oh leaving Gray’s a big loss. I also think having Sara Ramirez, the Callie character leave was a mistake. I was hoping she and Arizona would get back together.
Anyway Scandal… I liked last night. I think that this year things seem to be more focused and going in a nice direction now with Quinn. With all the election stuff, there wasn’t a lot going on with her character. The “surprise” character at the end of last night’s show wasn’t all that much of a total surprise to me. I knew that there would more stuff coming on that storyline… also need something for Jake to be involved in as he isn’t the Vice President or with Liv.
This week’s episode was great. Loved everything about it.
I watched it last night and I agree about Quinn. I really liked seeing her step up and I like how they hooked Rowan back in with the “surprise.” I had been wondering about her. Two hour season finale next week - they should leave us with quite a cliffhanger!
I liked Quinn’s story last week, but did a bit of an eye roll at the “surprise” person being the bad guy…again.
Wow. I didn’t expect that!
Great season finale, IMO. Gives us something to look forward to without being a total cliffhanger.
I didn’t suspect until they knew the burner phone was on the dais, but I thought Wow, that’s a cold hearted snake of a plan right there! I still thought I had to be wrong, there was no way. And then the final twist–and twist–and twist? Yeah. Wow.
Sorry for being so vague, just trying not to spoil!
I thought it was a very good episode and season finale, setting up well for next season although the resolution of that one story line was convoluted to say the least! I guess that character was considered superfluous… I don’t want to give away any spoilers for those who haven’t caught up to it yet.
Just finished last night’s episode and count me as another Wow!!! Complete shift in the power dynamic between two of the characters. I was also most surprised by the final twist. These people are so cold and murderous and then they switch into the human gear like the final scene at OPA. Beautiful inaugural gowns!
I came here to CC last night after the show expecting a lot of reaction, but there was none. Am I the only person who still watches the show in real time? But it was a great finale.
I kind of feel like if a thread is about a tv show, movie or book, anyone who reads the thread should have seen or read it. Otherwise, what is the point of the thread? I do not want to worry about spoilers. Only read the thread if you have watched or read!
I agree about spoilers. If I don’t want to know, I don’t visit the thread until I’ve watched.
As for watching in real time, I haven’t watched Scandal in real time for several years. I find that it’s much more enjoyable for me to be able to fast forward through the commercials.
I can’t wait to see how Olivia takes charge next season. I’ve noticed that at times they have dressed her in black and white which emphasizes her dichotomy between the good guy who wanted to win the WH fair and square and the hard core woman who could have easily choked her own mother to death last night and who has been responsible for some serious misery.
Wow.
I loved Mellie decorating the Oval Office with portraits of women reformers.
Next season should be very interesting.
Also, I love Fitz.
There was a lot going on, this season, that I didn’t understand. A lot of cycling and recycling the bad guys. Eg, not enough to know if I have any sympathies for Rowan. Not satisfied with how Jake has developed. And the end of last night’s-- it’s like, who’s the most power hungry, now?
But I tell myself it’s just ABC.
I liked the Jake-Olivia much better. Especially when they’d been in Zanzibar. And guess what? I liked the Fitz Oval deco better. Last night, I kept thinking I’d go nuts if I had to look at Eleanor and whatever that other art was, all the time. Call me odd, I guess.
Oh, btw-- cottage in VT? Remember, he already built her a house, big house. (That wasn’t a dream sequence, was it?)
I liked Jake-Olivia better too and the Vermont house was real.
I never check a thread until I’ve watched the show. And I never watch hardly any show live!
Watched last night. So cute about Quinn being pregnant - and how she realizes though that her and Charlie and baby can’t have a normal life. Sad. Side note: the actress who plays Quinn IS pregnant in real life! She seems like the sweetest young woman!!
I personally think Millie in the White House is going to be boring! And OMG I am so over Cyrus - he kind of gags me to even look at him!
Olivia, Olivia, Olivia…going to the dark side… I wonder if she ran out to Fitz on the WH grounds to say good bye - because she thought it would truly be goodbye if she joins B613.
Kind of happy to see Abby back with the group. Huck is going to FIT when he realizes what Olivia is doing.
Now we have to wait until next January?! BUMMER!
Do your forsee a Melly/Olivia conflict/power struggle? Melly can be very assertive when she wants… but she did sign that order that Olivia put in front of her without any questions… so don’ t know. I assumed that the actress playing Quinn was pregnant for real… sort of makes it an interesting plot development… yes next January is a long way away!
I have often felt - and to me, the last episode solidified this thought - that Melly was more in love with the idea and notoriety of being President - not the toil of the job. Once she sees her name in lights and the inauguration balls are over I wonder if she will falter. And if Cyrus takes over as VP (yuck) he will happily step all over her I think.
I just wonder how we will see Fitz come back. There’s no plot in Vermont!
