AOL Video, is it legit?

I stumbled across the aol video website while I was googling Growing Pains (it’s now back on TV!) Some of the videos are in “Hi-Q” - dvd quality - so I thought this thing is great! But then I noticed that tv shows like Growing Pains are on that site, available for download, and even in Hi-Q. But…most of these shows are being sold in DVD format. Is it legit to dl them from AOL? (You also have to install this aol plugin thing to get the videos and I’m not too sure if that would be wise - I never use aol programs)

AOL’s a huge company, and given the scrutiny it’s recently come under, I doubt it could afford to do anything that could be remotely perceived as illegal.

But many people do have a certain – disregard – for AOL programs (even though everything it’s doing is legal).

According to this website, AOL force-installs spyware on your computer:

More AOL = badware stuff:

AOL’s performance sucks and doesn’t let you load certain pages:

AOL’s business ethics are mediocre:
